The Transition Team Answers Your Questions
Q: After Pastor Paul starts in September, does the Transition Team disband or fulfill some other role? A: The job of the Transition Team does not dissolve until a settled Pastor is in place and has been installed. The duration of the Transition Team can be for a minimum of 12 to 18 months, or more. Q: If the team continues and begins to work with Pastor Paul, how so, and doing exactly what? A: To answer this question we ask that you look at the "Time Line for a Pastoral Transition." This should help to answer your questions. You may pick up a copy of this document in the entrance way of the church.
Q: Why not transition to a called (settled) Pastor ASAP? A: Synod guidelines state that after a long Pastorate - like we had with Pastor Mark for 20 years and Pastor Nadine for 10 years - that an Interim Pastor help us discern "Who we the Church Family of Christ the King is without the Ridleys," and help us deal with all the feelings of losing much-loved Pastors. From grief, loss, anger, and sometimes relief, we will move to hope for the future and draw excitement for a new Pastor. There will be a lot happening in the next couple of months. For more information, please keep checking the Transition Team bulletin board located in the CTK Café. Over the next couple of months, the Transition Team will be working with the Church Council on the Ministry Site Profile; this will not happen until enough time has gone by and sufficient progress has been on the Transition Tasks listed in the Time Line. After the Ministry Site Profile is turned in to the Synod, the Church Council will appoint a Call Committee. This committee will not be appointed until sometime between March and June of next year.
If you have additional questions please write them on the question sheet posted on the Transition Team bulletin board, or ask any member of the Transition Team. They will be answered to the best of our ability. |

CTK Talent Show & Potluck Dinner
Help stop world hunger by joining us on Thursday, October 14th for a talent show and potluck dinner. If every member of ECLA attended one potluck dinner and donated $1 we would raise $4.6 million for world hunger. You can sign up as a family or individual for the talent show. Jim Ford will be there to serve as an accompaniment if needed. There will be a sign up sheet in the entrance hall to give a loose idea of how many folks will be coming and/or performing. Doors will open at 5:30 with dinner at 6:00 and performances to begin at 6:15 while we eat. Questions/ideas - contact Julie Siefert at 785-3697 or jsifert@stny.rr.com
