From the Pastors
TOO MANY: There are just too many thank-yous to be said, and too many debts to be acknowledged! We'd have to begin decades ago, with the pastors and lay people who first planted the two remarkable congregations that eventually became the Christ The King that we know today. We'd have to thank everyone who's worked and prayed for the church down through the years. We'd have to acknowledge every member of every Church Council, every Sunday School teacher or Choir member, every usher, every small group leader or helper, everyone who's been a part of the vast human mosaic that has been Christ The King Lutheran Church. We have had a blast here! You've let us try every lame-brained idea we've wanted to. You've laughed at our jokes, praised our sermons, forgiven our failings, and generally treated us far better than we deserve. Serving as your pastors has been the privilege of a lifetime. We literally cannot thank you enough -- there just isn't enough time, or enough space in this newsletter -- or a dozen like it. So we will simply thank God, who sent us here and sustained us as we worked among you. We will simply echo the words of St. Paul, written to a congregation that he loved, as we love this one: "Every time we think of you, we thank God for you. Day and night you're in our prayers as we call to mind your work of faith, your labor of love, and your patience of hope in following our Master, Jesus Christ, before God our Father. It is clear to us, friends, that God not only loves you very much but also has put his hand on you for something special." (1 Thes. 1:2-4, The Message)
Actually, that sums it up pretty well! Love, Mark and Nadine |

 Worship
Schedule Changes
On Sunday, June 27 (the Ridleys' last Sunday with us),
we'll have one service only, at 10 AM.
This service will include special music from our CTK Choir, the CTK
Brass Ensemble, and our Music Directors, Jim Ford and Lukus Wells.
Beginning
on Sunday, July 4, and
continuing through Labor Day, we'll have Classic Worship at 9 AM and Progressive Worship at 10:30 AM. |
Stamp Out Hunger!
Thanks to the generosity of Jesus and Friends and Silly Bands Stamp Art, contributions for CHOW exceeded 17 canned goods items from the previous Sunday. The price to make a refrigerator magnet or door hanger was one canned item, and the response was great! Let's keep the CHOW cupboard full through the summer!
