Its prom and scholarship season - check out this special edition of our newsletter for information about the THREE upcoming CT Proms for LGBT and ally youth - and for FOUR scholarship opportunities from organizations right here in CT!  Happy Spring!
Up to $5,000 in Scholarships for youth advocates!  Deadlines coming up!  

 

 

 

PROMS, PROMS, PROMS!
 

New Haven Pride Prom 

  • 8 PM on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the United Church on the Green Parish House
    (323 Temple St. New Haven, CT)
  • The Prom is Free and Open to all CT LGBTQ and allied youth, 19 and under
  • Pre-registration is requested
  • Sponsored by Fierce Advocates at Yale and many, many LGBTQ organizations in New Haven
  • Fierce Advocates can help with transportation within a reasonable distance from New Haven. Youth/their guardians should contact Amalia or by calling: 203-491-0362

Stamford Rainbow Ball

  • 7:30 PM on Friday, June 15th, Italian Center, 1620 Newfield Avenue Stamford
  • $40 per person

  • You MUST reserve a spot & pay PRIOR to June 11th! You CANNOT buy tickets "at-the-door."

  • Doors open at 7:30pm, dinner served at 8. Dance,  mingle, make friends till Midnight!
  • TO PURCHASE TICKETS:(or to ask any questions about the dance) students, teachers, parents should EMAIL RNBWBLL@gmail.com  that's rainbowball, WITHOUT any vowels
  • Emails should include the NAME, GRADE, and SCHOOL of ALL students planning on attending. Once you email us, we will hold a spot on our list for TWO weeks
  • Then mail your check or money-order, made out to "WHS GSA" for $40 a person, to:

QUEER Prom 

  • Saturday, June 23rd, 7:00 - 11:00 PM, W. Hartford Meeting & Conference Center,
    50 South Main Street, West Hartford, Connecticut 06107
  • Price: $10 at the door
  • The Hartford Gay and Lesbian Health Collective is proud to bring you: QUEER PROM 2012 with Prom photos, food, music and dancing, performances, prizes, Run and Vote for Prom King, Prom Queen, or Prom Queer!
  • An alternative prom for LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and ally) youth ages 13-21
  • Appropriate Dress Required
  • Queer Prom has a strict no drug and alcohol policy 

True Colors' Annual 5k: Save the Date!
  
 

True Colors wants to know: what are your favorite health-oriented activities? The True Colors Annual 5k Fundraiser is coming up on May 6th, 2012 - a perfect opportunity to show your support for our organization while working on your own personal fitness. The True Colors Annual 5k not only assists our continual outreach to LGBTQ youth, but helps support healthy lifestyles.

 

Make sure your Gay-Straight Alliance is up-to-date on our 5k! We encourage Gay-Straight Alliances and advisors to come to Wickham Park in Manchester on May 6th, where participants can run (or walk!) in the race, cheerlead from the sidelines, and, as always, socialize with GSA friends. Bring your LGBT pride, a "can-do" attitude, your most fabulous costumes, and get ready to support True Colors and your GSA this spring!
