Greetings!
After an action-packed spring that featured our 17th True Colors Conference, the first ever Radically Inclusive Spiritual Institute, two GSA Summits, and much more... True Colors is kicking off the summer with a whirlwind of exciting events! Check out what we've got going on with our mentoring program, an open house, queer prom and the Radically Inclusive Spiritual Institute. It's your participation that makes these events great! Let's keep working together to create safe and affirming spaces for queer youth and our entire LGBTQIA community. |

Summer Group Mentors Saturday June 12th 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Becoming a mentor to queer youth is a great way to strengthen our community and empower the next generation of LGBTQIA people. This summer, you can do just that by signing up to be a short-term group mentor. All you have to do is commit to at least one activity per month and help transport youth from your area to that event. There's oh-so-much to choose from: Game Night, a Mentee Mocktail Party, Queer Prom, Movie Night, Hartford PRIDE, the Varla Jean show, the Farmingon Carnival, a New Britain Rock Cats game... and the list goes on! To get on your way to making a huge difference for queer youth this summer, call or email us for your mentor application and background check release form. Training for summer group mentors will take place on at the TC office in Hartford on June 12th. Also, please contact us if you are interested in a long-term group/one-on-one mentoring or becoming a foster parent of a queer youth. |
Planning the Next Spiritual Institute Tuesday June 1st 5:30pm
The very first Radically Inclusive Spiritual Institute was a huge success and we would like to make next year's even more so. The mission of the Spiritual Institute is to create safe spaces for LGBT youth to do their spiritual work. We will be meeting at the Center Congregational Church at 474 Broad Street in Meriden to begin putting together the next events. Come one, come all, and come ripe with ideas about radical inclusivity! |
