Community Cookout
May 20

"While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with Him and his disciples.  When the Pharisees saw this, they asked His disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"  On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick...For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." (NIV)

This coming Thursday is the beginning of a bible study hosted over at Almaden Apartments.  We are kicking off the bible study by hosting a community cookout and potluck.  We are inviting everyone, which means Christians and non-Christians alike.  Therefore it serves as a great opportunity for us as Christians to build loving relationships with those who do not yet know Jesus.

This is a worthwhile ministry, and I believe a harvest is waiting to be brought in.  These people are ready to hear and receive the Gospel.  Will you join with me in bringing these people into the Kingdom?
The cookout will start at 6pm, followed by an adult bible study and kids club at 7pm.  Everything should end at 8pm.  You are more than welcome to attend any of them.  If you plan on coming, you may want to bring a lawn chair and a bible for the bible study.
If you would like to bring a side dish to the cookout, that would be fine.  Amada has asked that you would call her and tell her what you are bringing, so she can coordinate the dishes 408-300-0840.
Directions:  From the WGMS Little Theater (where we meet for worship) go up Malone, past Lincoln Ave, until it T's into Old Almaden Road.  Turn left onto Old Almaden Road.  At that intersection there are some very nice and new condos, followed by one entrance to an apartment community.  Almaden Apartments follows that entrance on the right hand side.  We are meeting by the pool in the back of the complex. The address for the Almaden Apartments is 1930 Almaden Rd., San Jose 95125.

Any questions about directions, you can call Amada or myself at 859-940-1784.

May God bless you, and I hope to see you there!

WGMS Bench Painting Project
May 22

paintThe weather and timing have finally come together to allow New Life to bless Willow Glen Middle School by completing a special project that has no funding.

John Christenson and a few of the New Life men will meet at WGMS at 10am on Saturday to begin to sand and paint a small set of benches for the school. John has all of the supplies, he just needs willing helpers!

If you can join them for an hour or 3, please call John (408-806-1428) or Andrea (408-306-8366). The benches are located just outside the school administration building, between the building and the back parking lot near the Middle School gym.
