Good Afternoon!
So many good things are happening at New Life! We hope you can join us for an upcoming event, serve the community as an individual or as part of a group, or just share in fellowship with one another on Sunday or in a small group!
We have a new small group starting this week for moms with young children, an all-church potluck is coming up on May 2nd, and please don't forget to purchase your tickets or collect donations for the FROST fundraiser for New Day for Children. This will be an amazing night!
Please read on for all the details.... |
New Life Mommies
New Life is starting a small group for mommies! All moms with babies and young children are invited on Friday, April 23 at 10:30am to our first gathering! We will meet at Supriya Sargunaraj's house for a time of conversation and planning for this new group. We will be starting a book to use as our guide, but mostly this will be a time of fellowship for moms and kids!
Hope to see you on Friday!

Sunday Evening Bible Study April 25 All are welcome to join us at Pastor Kevin and Luann's home on Sunday evenings at 6:30pm to spend some time together in the Word and in fellowship with one another. Each week Pastor Kevin leads the group through time in the Word, discussion and prayer. |
Compassion, Community and Justice Month May 1-31 Throughout the month of May, New Life will be highlighting the ministries to which the church has been called, as well as ministries where members of the community are giving their time, talents and treasures to serve our community. There are nearly a dozen local agencies that are currently being served either directly by New Life or by its congregation! There will be posters on display showing all of the organizations served by members and friends of New Life. Individuals from these organizations will be given opportunity to share with the community what the organization does and how New Life has been involved. Pastor Kevin will be preaching on Compassion and Community Justice issues in each of his sermons for the month. And Pastor Adam will be bringing an Outreach message to the community as we seek to deepen our involvement serving those in need throughout San Jose and the greater world community. |
All Church Potluck Lunch May 2 All are invited to a potluck lunch at Pastor Adam and Emily's home after service on Sunday, May 2nd. This is a very casual event, just a chance to share some food and conversation in the afternoon. It is a great time to bring a friend to service and then introduce them to some folks over lunch! Please bring a dish to share. Directions to Pastor Adam and Emily's home will be provided in the bulletin on May 2. For details, please contact Pastor Adam ( adammcghee@newlifesanjose.org). |
New Life Covenant Church Annual Meeting May 16 The New Life congregation and membership are invited to gather for our Annual Congregational Meeting at 5pm on Sunday, May 16. We will meet at Mike and Debbie Munns' home (address in the New Life directory and the Sunday bulletin). All are welcome, but only members may vote. |
New Day for Children Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction May 21
New Day for Children is a faith based organization developing a facility and program in Oakland, CA to provide hope and security for girls from the ages of 10-18 caught in the desperation of sexual exploitation for commercial purposes.
This dinner and benefit, sponsored by New Life Covenant Church and The Bridge Community Church, will be held from 6-9:30pm at the Corinthian Room in downtown San Jose. Tickets are $29.
| | Auction Donation Items Needed
The FROST group is looking for silent auction items for our New Day for Children event. If you (or someone you know) has an item or professional service you would like to donate, please let Christy Wold (or any FROST member) know. Donations may be tax deductible.
We would love all sorts of thing: Gift Certificates, services (professional handyman, massage or spa certificates, etc.), vacation homes for a weekend, jewelry, gift baskets, quilts, etc etc etc.
We also have a letter that you could give to your favorite local stores and restaurants to ask for donations. We can use all the help we can get! THANK YOU for considering helping with this request. Christy Wold 408-464-6748 or christywold@yahoo.com.

Helping Willow Glen Middle School To be Scheduled We have an opportunity for a couple of folks who know how to sand and paint to help Willow Glen Middle School with a project that has no funding this year. There are a few benches that are old and weathered and in need of a sand and stain near the main quad of the school, and with budget cuts, this won't get done. Mr. Molina asked in November if New Life might be able to help fix these up for the school. And then the rain came! So, now that we are hopefully near the end of the rains, I'd like to ask for a couple of helpers on a Saturday morning or even during the week who can do this work. A sander and all the supplies will be provided. And I will coordinate access to power with the school. |
