Too Much engine, not enough stall!!.
Matching the torque converter to the engine is essential to a balanced combination. A customer came to us with a car that lunged violently forward when put into gear. It also barely ran when the transmission was in drive. The converter was way too tight (low stall) for the engines idle characteristics. A large duration camshaft will shift all the torque higher in the RPM range. While there may be more overall torque, the amount of torque where the engine used to idle may be less, causing the engine to really struggle with the same converter. Raising the stall of the converter will ease the load off your engine at idle and allow it to rev to an RPM where all the power lies. This will unleash all the performance your engine already has. Don't let an incorrect parts combo keep you from getting the most from your package.
