Explorer Spotlight Chris Mills
Explorer Chris Mills was sworn in as a Cobb County Police Officer on June 23, 2011 by Chief John Houser. Chris became a member of the Cobb Police Explorer Post #5 in 2009. Within a year he worked his way up to the rank of Corporal. The Cobb County Police Post has been very successful since 2004. Chris is the Post's first Explorer to become a Police Officer with Cobb County. Two Explorers have gone on to work with Cobb Animal Control, two work with Cobb 911 Communications Center, and two serve in the United States Military. Chris's Post Advisor Andy Higgins always knew that Chris would be successful. "I am extremely proud of all his accomplishments not only in the Explorer Program but in life. I know that Chris will be one of Cobb County's finest officers and will go far in his career. He was a joy to have in the program and was always willing to help his fellow explorers. I know he will continue this by helping the citizens of Cobb County and his fellow officers." Chris is 22 years old and attending Georgia Highlands College working on a Criminal Justice degree. He grew up in Boy Scout Troop 638 where he achieved Eagle Scout. Exploring is a career education program for young men and women ages 15 to 20.
