Greetings!

Michael Seay
2010-2011
AdClub President

Michael Seay
Hello, my name is Michael and I'll be your AdClub President for the next 12 months.

It might sound like something you would hear from a tour guide, but that is how I plan to approach this next year. Allow me to be your guide on this incredible ride we'll call AdClub 2010-11. On our journey I will introduce you to the incredible and fun opportunities available to you as AdClub members. We'll encounter the ups & downs of this fluid economy, but the common goal of a marketing & advertising-rich community with numerous success stories will hopefully prevail.

You may notice by the adaptation of our logo that the Advertising Club of Toledo is 100 years old! We were able to take a glimpse back at history last month at our dinner program, Reminisce: An Evening of ACT Presidents. Heartfelt thanks to all of those past Presidents that participated as part of the panel and have held this office before me. I also would like to acknowledge and thank our newest addition to the past Presidents club, Sara Shiels. The now Ex-Officio has been a fantastic leader of the club and will continue to help us grow by serving as Chair of the 2nd annual AdWORKS. If you have not secured October 15th on your calendar yet, you'll want to do that ASAP.

Michael Seay, Buckeye TeleSystem

Michael has been an AdClub member since 2006 and has been a board member since 2007. He has served as co-chair of the 2007 & 2008 AdBID and was co-chair of the inaugural AdWORKS event. "It is an honor and privilege to serve as President in the 100th year of our club. I look forward to reengaging our current and past members as we look to grow with new professional and creative members, all the while paying homage to the 100 years that have preceded us."

Michael has been with the Buckeye Companies for over 10 years, currently serving in the Marketing department of Buckeye TeleSystem. He has served on several boards and is the Immediate Past Chairman of Prevent Blindness Ohio. "I would like to invite those at our local agencies, freelancers, internal marketing & advertising professionals, designers and all of our current members to contact me with any concerns, ideas or comments. We value your input and will use it to continuously improve YOUR AdClub."
1st Vice President
Kathy Jex, In-House Communications

Kathy Jex will be serving as First Vice President of the Advertising Club of Toledo for the 2010-11 term. As an independent business owner and freelancer, Kathy has been in the advertising and marketing field for over 30 years, starting as a graphic designer at a small, independent film company and eventually becoming the Marketing Coordinator for the largest hospital in Northwest Ohio. For the past 15 years, she has run her own company, in-house communications, providing copywriting and other marketing and advertising services for clients or local ad agencies.

Kathy has been a member of Advertising Club since 1992. She served on the Board of Governors from 1994 to 2001, and currently from 2007 to the present day. She has been chairman of ADDYs, Social Committee, Public Service, PR and others. She was part of the committee that presented our first AdWORKS which was nationally recognized at the 2010 AAF National Conference in Orlando. She is a Toledo native and currently volunteers her services to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Northwest Ohio to promote their annual Walk for the Cure.

In June 2010, Patrick left the corporate world, after stints at Libbey, Calphalon, Microsoft and The University of Toledo, to pursuit his passion: bringing focus, control, clarity and confidence to small business marketing.

Patrick also serves on the board of the northwest Ohio Chapter of the American Cancer Society and serves as co-chair of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. Patrick enjoys spending time with his wife, Joely, and their daughter, Penelope and likes to cook. "I love my life and try really hard to keep it fairly simple. Some days I'm more successful at accomplishing that than others, but tomorrow's always a new day."
