Greetings!

Sara Shiels

The reason so many of us get involved with professional, charitable, or networking groups is to be a part of something and support our community or our interests. With AdBID, the Ad Club's yearly fundraiser just around the corner we are looking for YOUR help and support! Here's how you can help:

·Take part by sponsoring a casino table and having the opportunity to deal a few hands, or be the bar sponsor and buy the first 50 people of the night a drink!
·Or help by contributing an item for the silent auction.
·But most importantly, be sure to get your tickets to the event - $35 each or 10 for $300.

With our Guitar Hero Theme and the added benefit of partnering with local charity BeInstrumental, we're planning on a sell out crowd this year, so get your tickets soon! Visit
adclubtoledo.org for complete event details and to see all of the great auction items you can bid on.

Company Profile
Off Contact Productions

Off Contact Is On Target for Area Clients

You've seen their work. It cruises past you on the way to work most mornings, and hangs over your head as you walk Toledo's downtown streets. They are Off Contact Productions (OCP), a locally based supplier of marketing graphics and inks, and their work is getting around. It's wrapped top to bottom on Tarta buses and it banners light posts as part of an Arts Commission of Greater Toledo Earth Day project. In fact, you might say it has been a banner year for the company overall.

Off Contact was founded by brothers James and Allen Schall in 1999 as a print for service provider, and quickly grew to be the go-to source for high quality graphics and specialty inks for prominent clients and area attractions around the region. The company has been producing the vibrant signage at Fifth Third Field from the stadium's opening day, and scored again when it was tapped to provide the graphics at the newly launched Lucas County Arena.

Toledo Is Open For Business
by:  Kathy Jex

That's the message new Toledo Mayor Mike Bell had for the large crowd of members and guests at the March luncheon program. Economic development, not the city budget,  was the topic of Mayor Bell's presentation, and the visions and plans needed for our economic growth.

The mayor began his talk with some discussion of the city's budget woes which are part of the big economic picture. Mr. Bell explained that he loves a challenge, and welcomed the opportunity to be creative in response to this and the many other challenges facing him in his office. With his glass-half-full attitude, he sees this as a perfect time to build upon the ashes of the economy and look for new and better ways.

The previous administration's attitude of "I got mine and you got yours" needs to be replaced by a spirit of cooperation and sharing with our regional municipalities. Citing the example of the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport he suggested the possibility of creating a similar situation with Detroit and Toledo which are comparable in size and distance. On a smaller scale, agreements about water and city resources are among the ways to begin a regional recovery, with everyone benefitting from reducing costs and increasing business and jobs in new industries to replace those lost in the manufacturing sector.

Mr. Bell hopes to create a model for the future by encouraging new regional opportunities and growth to our area. By seizing new business opportunities, like our growing solar industry, and making this a more business-friendly region, he believes that we can succeed and grow together.
