Greetings!

Sara Shiels

You may be looking out your window at inches and inches of snow, but I promise you that this month will bring spring! Well... at least astronomically. So to help you get through these last winter blahs, the Ad Club has a few exciting events planned.

First, on March 17, our new Mayor of Toledo, Mike Bell will be our guest speaker for the monthly luncheon program. Mayor Bell will tell us about how he plans to market a new Toledo. Grab a few friends or coworkers and hear what he has to say.

Then wrap up your week of St. Patty's Day parties with the ultimate party - AdPIN! Reserve your team today and see Ad Club bowling at it's finest. This year we encourage you to pick your own theme for the night. And don't forget, we've moved to Rossford Lanes located at 969 Dixie Hwy.

"Marketing a New Toledo - a Regional Approach"

Location:
The Toledo Club, 235 14th Street
www.toledoclub.org

As the Mayor discussed during his campaign, he believes we all will benefit from a more coordinated, regional approach to economic development as we present ourselves to the country and the world. Toledo has not been at the table for some time while many other local organizations have been working together to pool their efforts. The City has been joining in those conversations and working to make a contribution to the collaborative effort since the administration took office and will continue to do so with the belief that we will share in some of the fruits of that labor as the regional economy begins to rebound.

AdTINI
written by:  Erin Hirschfeld, Erin Ink

Another enjoyable AdTINI took place on Thursday, February 11th at the beautiful Georgio's restaurant in downtown Toledo. About 40 new and old AdClub of Toledo friends lounged in the dimly-lit bar while conversing and sipping on after-work cocktails. The special "Valentini," the festive Valentine-themed martini, was a hit especially among the ladies such as President, Sara Shiels and Laura Carpenter. Stay tuned for the next AdTINI where $5 martinis and good company is the theme.

Make the Most of Your Membership and Join the Board of Governors
By:  Kathy Jex

Looking for a great networking opportunity? One that's guaranteed to increase business referrals and provide new connections, while offering fellowship with others in the business? The best one I know is the Ad Club Board of Governors.

It's no secret that a good way to get to know more people in Ad Club is to be on one of the many committees that help us function. But the best way to increase your exposure to the overall club membership and have the opportunity to get to know people one-to-one is to serve a term on the Board of Governors. Our monthly luncheon meetings provide more than an opportunity to conduct Club business, they also offer a chance to get to know people better, let them see what you can offer, and have some fun at the same time!

Many lasting friendships have been formed from time served together on the Board, and even more long-term business relationships. My terms with the Board have been some of the most rewarding and fruitful times in my career, and I know that I am not alone in making that statement. Ask any current or former Board member and they can instantly cite income or jobs they would not have received had they not met people on the Board.

In addition, Board membership is your opportunity to help the Advertising Club better serve you and others in the industry. So gather your ideas and enthusiasm and toss your hat in the ring. We're now looking for members who want to make a difference, get involved and BeACTive! Contact Patty for information on the upcoming Board elections.
