Spring Allergies:

Do You Know the Signs for When Your Child's Allergies May Be Getting WorseLil Girl Tissue

Finally, it is feeling like Spring, and with the warmer weather and rain comes the return of pollen. For the nearly 50 million people in the U.S. who suffer with seasonal allergies (one in five), including millions of children, it also means discomfort. But, the allergy specialists at Kansas City Allergy and Asthma Associates have some timely and helpful tips for Springtime allergies.

KCAA's board certified and fellowship trained physicians remind us that the early weeks of March are when we need to start paying attention to the pollen count, the warning signs of allergy flare-ups and even begin allergy medications early in preparation of those higher pollen counts. children sunny day

Avoiding pollen isn't really possible so you need a strategy to cope with it. Minimize contact with outdoor pollens and if you and your family do go outside (and that includes your pet) be sure to change clothes and keep windows closed if possible. See your allergist for help and to make sure you are taking the correct medication.
