Amy Smith Opening New State Farm Office 

"I see State Farm as an opportunity to utilize my sales background but also to serve the Mountain Brook community," says Amy.

Amy Smith is a native of Birmingham, AL.

  Amy has worked with State Farm the last 7 years as an auto claim representative and an Agency Field Recruiter for the states of Alabama and Mississippi. Amy is the co-chair of the Birmingham Furman Alumni Association and assists with the Chapter Advisory Board of Kappa Delta at Birmingham Southern. She plays an active role with the student ministry at her local church. She also works closely with the Hispanic Business Council for the Birmingham Business Alliance.  Amy holds a Masters in Business Administration from UAB and a B.A. in Business Administration and Spanish from Furman University.

Shaundra Daily, Ph.D., Kaitlin RIchburg,

g8four (pronounced 'gate four')

is a learning, design and technology firm founded by Julian Daily and Shaundra Bryant Daily, Ph.D.  Combining their passions for education and technology, g8four will open the Techniq in Crestline Village in spring 2011. Techniq will offer hands-on technology workshops teaching 21^st century skills for youth. In addition to technology workshops, g8four performs professional development focused on integrating technology into schools' curricula, and conducts research and develops products to improve learning experiences. Julian is a passionate entrepreneur and Shaundra holds a Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Media Lab where she worked with the Affective Computing and Lifelong Kindergarten groups, as well as a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University - Florida State University College of Engineering.

Marjorie Johnston & Co., a Birmingham, Alabama interior design firm, is please to announce that things are falling into place.

On 10.10.10, Marjorie Johnston & Co. found a new place to call home as well as a new business to introduce.   Marjorie Johnston & Co. launched JoJo Home, simple style for good living, in a newly renovated location on Culver Road.  JoJo  Home offers design product and resources not only for Marjorie Johnston & Co's clientele, but for the local community as well. Owner Marjorie Johnston describes JoJo Home as "fresh product for every home in a variety of price points."  "Our mission is to be able to offer custom pieces at affordable prices, as well as one-of-a-kind treasures to complete a room." 

Opened in 2008, Marjorie Johnston & Co. has specialized in renovation, remodel and redecorating services.  The design services business will continue in the newly renovated offices at Culver Road.  The front of the new space will be home to JoJo Home, an interactive showroom for product and interiors inventory.  Johnston is excited and hopeful about this new venture. 

"Adding this arm to our business makes perfect sense and we hope to serve our individual clients better, in addition to becoming a destination for the home shopper on the hunt for a unique lamp, perfect accessory or piece of furniture without going to the internet or another market."
