Calling All Artists!

 Are you feeling CREATIVE this summer?All artists are invited to be a part of an ARTWALK event in Crestline at CRESTLINE SEAFOOD
in the "HAPPYMESS Gallery - so called because it was once home to
Klumpie's ice cream" as well as in Laura Kathryn Collection next door
throughout the summer. Please submit to Allison Adams at at least two weeks prior to each show a photo of one
painting that you would like to have displayed at the ARTWALK Event. Please note
that it will be placed on consignment for the month following the event as
well. Include ARTWALK SUBMISSION in the subject line. Space is limited
so please get your submissions in early! June 18TH theme will be FATHERS AND FREEDOM July 16TH theme will be SUMMERTIME August 20TH theme will be PEOPLE AND PLACES Not an artist? Algebra and Your Child's Future!

TUESDAY, JUNE 9TH - COMMUNITY MATHEMATICS NIGHT MOUNTAIN BROOK ELEMENTARY
Mountain
Brook is a partner in the Greater Birmingham Mathematics Partnership
(GBMP), a $9.96 million National Science Foundation Grant to improve
the teaching and learning of mathematics in the greater Birmingham
area. One of the components of GBMP is Community Mathematics Nights
(CMN) for parents and the public, usually held during the school year. A
special CMN titled "Algebra and Your Child's Future" is being held
especially for Mountain Brook parents of rising 5th, 6th, and 7th grade
students at Mountain Brook Elementary School on Tuesday, June 9th.

Table Matters Hosting Artist

Table Matters will be hosting Botanical Artist and Illustrator Lauren Lachance
June 11, 12, 13 (Th, Fr, Sat)
She will have many new botanical pressings of exotic orchids, ferns and oversize leaves. Lauren will lecture on Saturday about Wabi-Sabi, the Asian based philosophy that beauty is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. It has always been an intrinsic part of Lauren's work. Other leading designers in the USA and Europe are adopting Wabi-Sabi philosophy - moving interior design closer to being green and helping to heal planet earth one home at a time.
