Hello, IAC Center's Crossing the Bridge from Infertility to Adoption or Third Party Reproductive Options workshop is for people who are considering or already in the process of pursuing adoption or third party reproductive options.
DATE: March 31, 2012 TIME: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. PLACE: Princeton Hyatt, Princeton, NJ This workshop can help you: - Feel ready to take some real steps toward becoming a family
- Get on the same page with your partner
- Learn how to communicate with prospective birth parents much MORE effectively - if you are pursuing adoption
- Gain a sense of what it will really be like to be a family formed through adoption, donor sperm or donor egg.
- Understand what data is important to collect for your prospective children
- Educate family members about your family building choice. Grandparents-to-be are invited for FREE when they attend with you. Alternately, you can learn how to communicate with family and friends about your plans.
Following the disappointment of failed fertility treatments it can be overwhelming to embark on a new family building option. You are dealing with a whole new language, a wide array of options and providers to choose from, and the reality that the worlds of adoption and medical treatment involve a business element. Since IAC Center does not do adoptions or medical treatments, we are able to present you with a neutral overview of all sorts of options (domestic or international adoption, attorney or agency adoption, donor sperm, donor egg, gestational carriers); and the important immediate and lifelong issues to consider as you create the plan that is right for you and your family. We understand that this is not just about "getting a baby" but about becoming parents for a lifetime. This opportunity to hear from professionals and people who have lived adoption and donor family building choices can make all the difference in your planning. Our goal is to help you to make timely decisions mindful of lifelong considerations.
