--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone is busy this time of year so here are just a few sound bites:
Four Holiday Articles:
Three Good Reads:
-
Lucky Girl by Mei-Ling Hopgood - A fascinating read about an Asian-American adoptee whose birth family found her.
-
Pieces of Me: Voices For and By Adopted Teens - This is the real thing, no over simplification or categorization. A real compilation of how different adoptees feel. Two IAC Center participants are included in the book and their pieces are also on the IAC Center web site:
A Place in My Heart by Mary Grossnickle - A great story that raises important adoption questions in a gentle, child friendly way that will promote family communication. And one IAC Center client pointed out that this is one of the only adoption books where the "child" is a boy, so some families may really appreciate that!
Two IAC Center Winter Workshops:
Our feedback from WISE Up workshop participants is that these two workshops really go together for many families so you may want to consider attending both.
