Technology News
As some of you might remember, we installed a few new Audio/Visual systems in classrooms earlier this year. We have an opportunity to place ten new systems in classrooms this summer -- but we need your help. Each system costs approximately $4,000. If you would be interested in donating $2,000 towards the cost of one of these systems, St. Anastasia will match your donation. We are able to provide matching funds because of a generous donation made to the school years ago in the form of a CD. The CD has matured and funds are now available.

The systems will be placed in the classrooms as donations are made. Your family or business would be acknowledged with a permanent plaque and the system would be placed in the room of your choice.

We are working towards installing these A/V Systems in each classroom. These easy-to-use, network-enabled, all-inclusive A/V systems are ideal for high-tech learning and teaching! The systems include a ceiling-mounted LCD projector, screen, speakers, Internet connectivity with  existing computers and a DVD/VCR. All components are mounted, connected and controlled through the system.

Please consider this unique, one-time donation, that the school will match, to enhance your child's learning experience next year and will continue to enhance many student's learning experiences for years to come!

Red Cross Babysitting Class Information

One of our St. A's parents, Mrs. Jen Richmond, recently spoke with a representative at the Red Cross regarding a program called "Babysitting Boot Camp." It is a 2-day class from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. held at their facility. The class is offered for young people 11-15 (boys are welcome, also). On the first day they go over basic childcare (feeding, bathing, changing, diapers, etc), how to be a responsible sitter, safety and such topics. On the second day, they go through the infant/child CPR program and receive their certificates at the end of the day. Lunch is provided. The cost is $130 for the 2 days.

If any parent is interested in having their child attend this training, the next session is being held either in Port St. Lucie or Vero Beach on June 28 & 29. They need a minimum of 6 attendees to go forward with a class. However, if there are at least 8 attendees, Red Cross can send a trainer to a location of our choice (on campus or other).

If anyone is interested in attending this class at a location of our choice, please contact Mrs. Jen Richmond at (772) 473-1155 or jenmr729@bellsouth.net.
