Third Annual Run for the Son 5K is Saturday, April 9
The third annual Run for the Son 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, April 9 beginning at 7:30 a.m. This year, St. Anastasia Church and School will partner together to bring this race to campus! The race will be coordinated by MCM Timing & Results using chip-timing gear. Registration forms can be found by clicking here.
Sponsorship opportunities are available, too. Please click here for more information.
Volunteers are needed for this event. We are looking for people to help with registration, course directors, water distribution, breakfast servers, medics/nurses and the Kids Fun Run. Please contact Mrs. Karina Priest at karinapriest@gmail.com to sign up for a shift. This event is one of the last opportunities you have to earn your volunteer hours for the school year...and it's a Saturday! Please consider helping out for this worthwhile fundraiser!
We also need items for our Goodie Bags. If you are interested in promoting your business, have a coupon from your business or have an item that would be helpful to runners/walkers, please consider donating 200 items to the school. Please drop your items off to Linette Trabulsy at the Development Office no later than April 4. If you have questions, please contact Linette Trabulsy at 461-2232. Thank you!

Your support of Catholic Relief Services' Operation Rice Bowl provides options to workers in Senegal and throughout the world. With CRS' support, workers can access small loans to establish businesses so that they can provide for their families. Everyone has the right to work!

One Day to Give
| |
St. Anastasia Catholic School has been asked to participate in the One Day to Give event hosted by Scott Van Duzer of The Van Duzer Foundation. In partnership with the Treasure Coast Food Bank and Mustard Seed Ministries, Mr. Van Duzer is appealing to the residents of St. Lucie County to come together on April 6, 2011 and donate 100,000 pounds of non-perishable food to benefit the County's hunger relief organizations.
Individual food drives held by schools and civic groups leading up to the event will play a crucial role in reaching the goal of 100,000 pounds of food on April 6.
As part of our Lenten sacrifices, we are encouraging students and families to participate in this drive. There are no class or individual competitions; however, our school will be included in the "friendly school competition" making us eligible for the cash awards given to the top three schools (based on the number of pounds per student collected). The cash awards are: First Place-$1,500, Second Place-$1,000 and Third Place-$500.
This project is yet another way we can help our community. We set the bar high with our Community Service Day during Catholic Schools Week! In addition to our contributions to the Operation Rice Bowls in which we can help fight hunger throughout the world, this project gives us the opportunity to help fight hunger in our own backyard.
Please click here for the event flyer. Big Apple Pizza will give away free pizza for 24 hours during the event! Thank you for your generosity!
