Jog-A-Thon News
| |
The St. Anastasia Catholic School Jog-A-Thon is Friday, Feb. 4th. This event is a very important fundraiser for the school and we need every student's participation in order for us to succeed. Our school goal is $20,000 and we can reach that goal if each student turns in at least $40 in pledges.
The Jog-A-Thon is a fun event that involves students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Each student obtains pledges, either by lap or as a single pledge, and on the day of the event, runs laps around a track. The laps are counted and students are eligible to win prizes based on how many laps they run. Pledges are then tallied and mailed to the sponsors for payment.
We have scheduled three (3) specific Turn-In Days for pledges. Turn-In Days are:
- Thursday, Jan. 20* (by 9 a.m.) - Hershey Bar Day!
- Thursday, Jan. 27* (by 9 a.m.) - Free Slice of Big Apple Pizza!
- Thursday, Feb. 3
*If students turn in pledges on Thursday, January 20 and Thursday, January 27, they will win prizes. Information and pledge sheets was sent home in the Thursday folder. The deadline to turn in pledges is 9 a.m. on Thursday, February 3. In order to participate in the Jog-A-Thon, students must turn in at least $10 in pledges.
Students should wear P.E. clothes (or Catholic Schools Week t-shirts) and tennis shoes on the day of the event. The students really enjoy this event, so we encourage you to involve them in obtaining pledges from family members and friends! We would also like to invite you to join us for the Jog-a-Thon - bring a lawn chair and watch the festivities! Or, if you need volunteer hours, this is a great opportunity to help! Don't forget that this day (Friday, Feb. 4) is a noon dismissal, too. Thank you ahead of time for your continued support and generosity! If you have any questions, please contact me at ltrabulsy@stanna.org or 461-2232.

Congratulations!
| Congratulations to eighth-grader Walker and fifth-grader Delaney Yavorsky who competed this past fall in the South Florida Motocross series which included tracks located in Okeechobee and Orlando. Delaney finished 3rd overall in the 65cc two stroke class and was the only girl that competed in her class. Walker finished 5th overall in the 85cc two stroke class and raced against many advanced riders. They both worked very hard and put in a lot of practice time to prepare for the race series.
