5th Annual Christmas Tree & Wreath Sale
Christmas Trees

St. Anastasia Catholic School and John Carroll High School present their 5th Annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale on Friday, December 3rd from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday, December 4th from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the St. Anastasia Pavilion.

We are offering high-quality, freshly-cut Fraser fir trees and wreaths from North Carolina. The trees range in size from 5/6 feet ($50), 6/7 feet ($60), 7/8 feet ($70), 8/9 feet ($90) to 9/10 feet ($100). The Fraser fir wreaths are 24-inch, hand-decorated with bows and pinecones, and cost $40.

We are still looking for donations for the sale:
  • Donate a bag of artificial pine cones or berries for the Christmas wreaths and you can earn volunteer hours.
    • 4 bags of pine cones=1 volunteer hour. (Please do not collect the pine cones from your yard as they are too large to use on the wreaths.)
    • $20 worth of artificial berries=1 volunteer hour.
Donations (with your name attached) may be dropped off in the Development Office and we will be happy to mark down your volunteer hours for you.

Volunteer opportunities include:
  • Registering to work a shift at www.SignUpGenius.com/go/christmas218/376641 and use password "Tree".
  • Decorate wreaths: Wednesday, Dec. 1 from 3:30-7 p.m. or Thursday, Dec. 2 at 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Pavilion. Please contact Linette Trabulsy at ltrabulsy@stanna.org to volunteer for wreath decorating.
St. A's Night at Big Apple Pizza
Server 3

We're doing it again!! We're hosting the second annual St. A's Night at Big Apple Pizza on Wednesday, Nov. 17 from 5-8 p.m. We will again have celebrity servers (the St. A's faculty and staff!) wait tables for you and your family and Big Apple will donate a portion of the evening's proceeds to St. A's. And who wouldn't want service with a smile like Mrs. Christopher above?

New this year, we are inviting businesses (friends and families of St. A's) to set up a table at the event to sell their products. The only thing we ask is that you pledge a percentage of your sales from that evening to the school. If you are interested in participating at the dinner event, please contact Linette Trabulsy at ltrabulsy@stanna.org.

Like last year, we will have bounce houses available for the kids. However, we need volunteers to supervise. We are looking for two people from 5-6:30 p.m. and one person from 6:30-8 p.m. If you are available to help, please contact Linette Trabulsy at ltrabulsy@stanna.org. Thank you so much!

It's Auction Planning Time! Each year, St. Anastasia Catholic School hosts an Auction and Dinner event in the Spring. This year, the event is Saturday, March 5th at the Pelican Yacht Club. The theme is "Garden of Eden." Each homeroom is required to submit a gift for the auction; however, our Pre-K classes work together to create a nice package/basket for the event.

We are in need of volunteers to serve on our  Pre-K Auction Committee. If you did not sign up at the beginning of the year, it is not too late! Help is needed in several different ways. If you are able to serve on this committee, please attend a committee meeting tomorrow, Nov. 11 at 7:15 a.m. in Room B-2. If you can not attend, please e-mail Mrs. Donna Vercillo at dvercillo@stanna.org and let her know how you can help. Thank you!
Band News
Congratulations to eighth grader Noah Graben who has been selected by the Florida Bandmasters Association this year to perform in the 2011 Florida Bandmasters Association All-State Honor Band!

Graben

St. Anastasia Catholic School again this year has the distinction of having a student selected to participate in the Florida Bandmasters Association All State Honor Band that performs each year in Tampa at the Tampa Convention Center in January. Noah Graben is an eighth grade student at Saint Anastasia and plays first chair Tenor Saxophone and Baritone Saxophone in the St. Anastasia Royal Ram Symphonic Band.  Noah takes private lessons on the saxophone from James Archer, a Vero Beach woodwind teacher and professional musician.

The 132-piece All State Honor Band is made up of exceptional students from all over the State of Florida chosen from hundreds of Florida student musicians in the 7th and 8th grades. There are only four Tenor Saxophone players selected for the All State Honor Band from the entire State of Florida. Noah, is one of only three students that was chosen for the Honor Band from District 13 of the FBA which consists of St. Lucie, Martin, Okeechobee and Indian River Counties. The FBA has 21 districts in the State of Florida. For the concert the huge convention center ballroom in Tampa will be filled with hundreds of middle, high and college school representatives, band directors, parents, school principals and distinguished visitors from all over the United States and around the world.

Noah is the son of Niles and Donnita Graben of Fort Pierce, Florida. Please congratulate Noah Graben when you see him.
PTO News
Your St. A's PTO has been VERY busy and they are about to get even busier!
  • At their Nov. 9th meeting, they voted to install Shade Sails over the courtyard area over the Christmas break! This exciting project is possible due to the hard work and generosity of so many people including the PTO, Mr. & Mrs. Urrutia, Mr. & Mrs. Paparella (Armadillo Dirt Works) and Mr. & Mrs. Yancy (Summerlin Seven Seas). Thank you!
  • The Sponsor-A-Family program is underway. If you are a new family to St. Anastasia and are looking to partner with a family that is "experienced," please contact Mrs. Shelley Beringhaus to sign up for the program. She can be reached at stanastasiapto@gmail.com.

From Dec. 6-9, the Parish Center will be transformed into a magical winter wonderland full of gifts for every member of the family. We need volunteers! Please register to work by clicking here and using the password "Santa." You may also e-mail Mrs. Maria Fanizzi at maria@quailcreekplantation.com to sign up.
  • Donations of gift bags, gift tag, scotch tape and shopping bags (for the gifts to come home in) are welcome. Please drop off any donations to the front office.
  • Raffle tickets are being sold for a 5/6 ft. live, Fraser fir Christmas Tree that will be decorated in the "Garden of Eden" theme. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the Christmas Tree & Wreath Sale on Dec. 3 and 4 as well as during the Santa's Christmas Corner on Dec. 6-9. The drawing will be on Dec. 9th.
