We Are So Thankful!
~ Please Help Us With
Our Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive ~

It's time for our annual Thanksgiving Food drive in partnership with St. Anastasia Catholic Church. Thanks to all of you who have helped make the food drive such a huge success in the past. This year has presented many challenges for all of us, yet our hearts still yearn to reach out to those less fortunate then ourselves. When we give sacrificially with a joyful heart, the return from God for our "investment" knows no limits.

This year, the Food Drive will begin on Monday, November 1 through November 19. Each grade level will be responsible for bringing in specific food items (see list below), however any and all donations are appreciated!

We will need volunteers to help pack up the food baskets for distribution.  If you are interested in helping, please call Darlene at the Parish Office at 461-2233.

Thank you so much for your help! Let us give with a joyful heart and allow God to work through us for the greater Glory of His Kingdom here on Earth.

PTO Spaghetti Dinner
Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate the third annual PTO Spaghetti Dinner on October 14. What a wonderful way to kick off the 3-day weekend and enjoy the fellowship of other St. Anastasia families! A special THANK YOU to Mrs. Dina Hicks, who chaired the event. Many PTO volunteers provided help that evening too! Another  special "Thank You" goes to the Silva family, owners of Frank and Al's Pizza, for providing the food for the event. Thanks also to the Brancaccio family, of Roma Bakery, for also donating the bread for the dinner.

Fifth Annual Christmas Tree & Wreath Sale
St. Anastasia Catholic School and John Carroll High School present their 5th Annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale on Friday, December 3rd and Saturday, December 4th. The sale will take place on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the St. Anastasia Pavilion.

The schools will be once again offering high-quality, freshly-cut Fraser fir trees and wreaths from North Carolina. The trees range in size from 5/6 feet ($50), 6/7 feet ($60), 7/8 feet ($70), 8/9 feet ($90) to 9/10 feet ($100). The Fraser fir wreaths are 24-inch, hand-decorated with bows and pinecones, and will be sold for $40.

Pre-orders are currently being taken and will be accepted through October 29th. Sales are subject to limited availability and on a first come first served basis, so please pre-order today. Order forms are available online at www.stanna.org or on www.johncarrollhigh.com

We are still looking for donations for the sale:
  • Donate a bag of artificial pine cones or berries for the Christmas wreaths and you can earn volunteer hours.
    • 4 bags of pine cones=1 volunteer hour. (Please do not collect the pine cones from your yard as they are too large to use on the wreaths.)
    • $20 worth of artificial berries=1 volunteer hour.
Donations (with your name attached) may be dropped off in the Development Office and we will be happy to mark down your volunteer hours for you. Contact Linette Trabulsy in the Development Office if you have questions. Thank you!
Volunteer Opportunities
We have several upcoming volunteer opportunities for you!
  • Sign up to volunteer during the All School BBQ on Friday, Nov. 12. Opportunities include: set up, clean up, food runners, tickets/drink tickets, sno-cones, bake sale, serving and kindergarten area serving. Hours vary depending on job.
  • Supervise the bounce houses at the St. A's Night at Big Apple Pizza in Fort Pierce on Wednesday, Nov. 17 (two shifts available between 4-8 p.m.).
  • Openings are available at Anastasia's Attic Thrift Store for sales and sorting. Please contact Mrs. Pat Caglioni at 461-2232 for details. All proceeds from the store benefit our school.
St. A's Night at Big Apple Pizza
We will host the second annual St. A's Night at Big Apple Pizza on Wednesday, Nov. 17. We will again have celebrity servers wait tables for you and your family and Big Apple will donate a portion of the evening's proceeds to St. A's. New this year, we are inviting businesses (friends and families of St. A's) to set up a table at the event to sell their products. The only thing we ask is that you pledge a percentage of your sales from that evening to the school. If you are interested in participating at the dinner event, please contact Linette Trabulsy at ltrabulsy@stanna.org.
St. A's Middle School Youth Group News

On Tuesday, Nov. 2, from 6-8 p.m. the Middle School Youth Group will meet in the Parish Center. The night is entitled "Danke Shoen" and we are looking forward to a great turnout once again from 6th-8th grade students!

Eighth Grade Parent Mass
The Eighth Grade Parent Mass is Monday, Nov. 8 at 8:15 a.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church. Join the students and other parents for fellowship and refreshments immediately following mass in the auditorium.
Fourth Grade News
The Fourth Grade Classes had some special guests last week. The students learned about Life on a Ranch in their Language Arts class and had some very good questions for a "real cowboy." So Mr. Robbie Johnson and his daughter, Ms. Morgan Johnson, came by to share their knowledge on cattle ranching, citrus farming and more. They even brought their horse, Blackie. The students watched Mr. Johnson crack a whip several times, too. Cowboys used whips to signal to other cowboys their location in the woods. The loud crack of the whip could be heard over large distances. The students had an opportunity to learn from a true, fifth-generation Florida rancher that day! How exciting!

Thanks to these families and everyone who is so generous to St. Anastasia Catholic School! We couldn't do it without you!
