The Living Rosary

St. Anastasia Catholic School honored the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on Thursday, Oct. 7th by participating in the annual Living Rosary prayer service. Coordinated by Ms. Maria McCadden, the service was an opportunity for the school to medidate on the Mysteries of the Lord and offer up prayers to those in need. Students in fourth-sixth grade made up the "beads" of the "living" rosary, while eighth grade lectors led us in prayer. The Junior Choir, under the direction of Ms. Kristin Jones, sounded like angels as they sang hymns during the service. The entire student body joined in singing, "Siyahamba/We are Marching in the Light of God!"

Second Grade News

Mrs. Julie Brennan's second grade enrichment class recently presented a play for both of the second grade classes. The play, called "Which Shoes Do You Choose?," is from reader's theater and helped the class focus on fluency and inflection. The narrator was Mrs. Brennan and the play starred Kaitlyn Blanton and Casey Rodriguez as clerks and Ashby Taylor as Katie. The students brought in all of their own props and costumes and Mrs. Brennan was very proud of them!
