Fish Fry Fundraiser
|
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Catholic Schools Week Fish Fry Dinner last week! The dinner was fantastic and everyone enjoyed wonderful fellowship and fun! A very BIG THANK YOU to our sponsors -- especially Inlet Fisheries -- who brought an entire army of cooks and other volunteers! Over 300 hungry guests enjoyed fresh fish and homemade hush puppies prepared and provided by Inlet Fisheries. Thanks to Domenick's Corner Grill for the delicious, (almost!) world-famous cheese grits and thanks to KFC for the yummy coleslaw! Thanks to Roma Bakery for the donation and delivery of the beautiful, sinfully-delicious cakes! The children had a great time in the arts and crafts area with Mrs. Cheryl Mitchell and Mrs. Mary Young! A special thank you to Mr. Rick Vachon, father of fourth-grade teacher Mrs. Steele and fifth-grade student Chad, for donating his 50/50 winnings back to St. Anastasia School! And thank you to all of our volunteers including: cookers and helpers Carl Trabulsy, Chris Hegedus, Joey Casson, Mike Donnelly, Glenda and Aaron Macon, Kadie Ward, Cathy Hegedus, Mark Blackwell, Jennifer Jackson and Peggy Ward, ticket sellers Rhonda Runte and Kathlenia Carter, food servers Becky Springsteen, Becky Blackwell and Dawn Willems, cake server Karina Priest, t-shirt sellers Natalie Westenhaver and Diana Brugnone, traffic cop and helper extraordinaire Troy Church, 50/50 ticket sellers Laura, Jennifer and Jay Samander, drink helpers Janie Reed and Karen Murphy and clean up helper Dennis Murphy!

Top: Catholic Schools Week cake donated by Roma Bakery and the Brancaccio family. Middle: Volunteers and St. A's parents Karina Priest, Diana Brugnone and Natalie Westenhaver. Bottom: Chris Hegedus prepares the fish and Aaron Macon fries it up!

Catholic Schools Week
|
Catholic Schools Week was a fantastic success! Last week we showed you pictures of the saints and holy characters that came to school on Monday. We also shared pictures of the many grandparents and parents who joined their children for masses and breakfast on Tuesday and Wednesday. A special THANK YOU to SLA Management for providing the breakfast and coffee both days. On Thursday, we took an aerial photo of our human "Armor of God" and then enjoyed the Fish Fry dinner with our friends and family! On Friday, it was "Hats off to Students and Faculty Day" and our annual Jog-A-Thon! Again, we'd like to thank everyone who participated in our joyous, faith-filled week and a special "Thank You" to everyone who made the decision that Catholic Schools provide "Dividends for Life!"

The top classes, who each will win a pizza and movie party, were Mrs. Noelke's class and Mr. Eakins' class. Congratulations!
