Help for Haiti
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Jeans Day for Haiti. We raised over $1,800 for the Catholic Relief Services emergency fund...wow!

We held a school-wide prayer service last week for the victims of the earthquake and continue to pray for those affected by the tragedy. Nothing can ever compare to the magnitude of life lost in Haiti; however, in an effort to put the number of deaths in perspective, Mrs. Odom's 4th grade class began a project last week to try to understand. The class is counting, sorting and bagging 200,000 popcorn kernels -- 200,000 is the number of victims reported to have died in the earthquake. The class  estimates it will take a few weeks to count that many kernels.

New Student Registration
On Monday, Feb. 1, we will hold New Student Registration. This is not re-registration for current students. Parents must bring a copy of: child's birth certificate, Baptismal Certificate (Catholic students) and current report card (kindergarten-eighth grade).

As you read in the letter sent home last week, there will be no change in tuition and registration fees for 2010-11 school year. If you have any friends or families interested in sending their children to St. Anastasia Catholic School, please provide them with the New Student Registration information. Registration information can be found online at www.stanna.org or contact the school office for more information.
Jog-A-Thon
The annual Jog-A-Thon is next week! The next Turn-In Day is tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 28th. After the first Turn In Day last week, we had 140 pledges for $955 and students who turned in pledges received a coupon for a free slice of pizza from Big Apple Pizza! The next Turn In Day for a prize is Wednesday, Feb. 3 for a coupon for a free Kids Smoothie from Tropical Smoothie in Fort Pierce!

The Jog-A-Thon is Friday, February 5. We need everyone's participation to make this event a success. Our school goal is $24,000 and if every student turns in at least $42 in pledges, we will make our goal.

Thank you to our generous sponsors of this event: Big Apple Pizza, Tropical Smoothie, Presutti's Italian Subs and Panera Bread! And thank you to all the parents and grandparents who have signed up to volunteer! It's going to be a great event!
Fish Fry Fundraiser
Now's the time to purchase your tickets for the Catholic Schools Week Fish Fry Dinner scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 4 from 5-7 p.m. at the school's auditorium. This delicious dinner will consist of fresh fried fish, hush puppies, cheese grits, coleslaw, dessert and drinks all for $7.50/adults and $5/children 10 & under. This dinner is made possible due to the generosity of our sponsors including Inlet Fisheries (donated and will cook the fish and hush puppies!), Domenick's Corner Grill, KFC and Roma Bakery.

A new addition to the dinner -- we will have a special arts and crafts area set up for the children! Thanks to Cheryl Mitchell for coordinating this fun area! We will also hold a 50/50 drawing.

To order tickets, complete the order form in this week's Thursday folder or download the order form online at fishwww.stanna.org.

For more information, call Linette Trabulsy in the Development Office at 461-2232 or contact her by e-mail at ltrabulsy@stanna.org.

Volunteers are needed to help with serving and selling tickets during the dinner. Please call Jeanie Lattner at 461-2232 to volunteer.
