Student Council
St. Anastasia is proud to have a Student Council beginning its second year in existence at our school. The mission of the Student Council is to unite students, faculty and staff in an atmosphere of school spirit and pride by:
  • respectfully representing the student body
  • maintaining and reinforcing the bond between students, faculty and staff
  • increasing student morale and school spirit
  • serving as liaison between administration and students
  • fostering communication and promoting a positive attitude between faculty and students
  • encouraging community service through example
Students running for the four major offices (President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary) were first chosen by a primary election narrowing the interested  candidates down to three for each office. The final three candidates for each office then gave a campaign speech on "St. A Live" last spring and final elections were held. Each class in grades 4 through 8 chose its representative within the classroom with primaries, speeches and elections.

Last year, the Student Council was responsible for working with administration on a special Veteran's Day ceremony. They also sponsored a very successful book drive collecting many books for the Hope Rural School in Indiantown. Mr. Hoeffner asked the Student Council to choose the design for the new school jackets that are available in the uniform store this year.

This year, the Student Council plans to be even more involved with several activities in the works. Stay tuned for more great news coming from the St. Anastasia Student Council!

Pinwheels for Peace & International Day of Peace
On Sept. 21, St. Anastasia School participated in the International Day of Peace with two special ceremonies celebrating Peace in our world. The 6th grade class, along with the students from Pre-K, joined together to "plant" their Pinwheels. Thanks to Ms. Maria McCadden, our wonderful Art Teacher, who coordinated and orchestrated this awesome event!

A note from Ms. McCadden: To all of the parents who volunteered their time with the Pinwheels for Peace project: THANK-YOU! Events like this are never successful without the kind work of many hands. The message of this project is that we can have peace in our homes, peace at school, peace at work, peace in our lives, if we all work together. Everyone who contributed to this project helped to create something beautiful, and I thank you all for working together with such joy! The Prayer Service and installation was truly a peaceful part of our commemoration of International Day of Peace.  May God bless His children with peace (Ps.29:11)!
