School Starts Monday, August 17th!

Back to SchoolThank you to all the parents who came to the Parent Orientation meeting last night!

The first day of school is Monday, August 17th. The first bell will ring at 7:55 a.m. and the tardy bell will ring at 8:00 a.m. The students will dismiss at 12:00 (Noon) on August 17th and 18th. School hours are 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Below are the special arrangements for Pre-School and Kindergarten.
  • We will again have a "phase in" for our kindergarten students. This means that kindergarten students whose last name begins with A-L come on Monday, August 17th, but not on Tuesday, August 18th. Kindergarten students whose last name begins with M-Z come for the first time on Tuesday, August 18th, but not on the 17th. All kindergarten students attend on the 19th. This will allow our little ones to receive more individual attention during orientation days. If this presents a hardship to any family, kindergarten students may attend on both days.
  • Pre-School phase-in is Monday, August 17 and Tuesday, August 18. Parents have been notified  by Mrs. Vercillo indicating which day their child is to attend.
Our Extended-Care Program will be available beginning on the first day of school. If your child will be attending the Extended-Care Program, please complete the form sent in the letter last week and either mail it to the school office or send the form with your child on the first day of school.

SLA Lunch Program & New Online Payment Plan
As you may have read in the letter sent home last week, there is a new school lunch online payment system this year. We will no longer be using school lunch tickets or cash in the school lunch program. We will accept last year's lunch tickets for the first two weeks of the new school year.

The new system is a simple, cost effective and secure software system called "LunchTime."  "LunchTime" software allows parents to go online to www.slalunch.com to open and manage a LunchTime account. Please visit this website before the first day of school to set up your account. Each child in your family will be assigned a PIN number, which is the child's library number. Payments to your account may be made using a credit card, debit card or online check payment.

Please contact SLA Management with questions at [email protected] or by phone (407) 740-7677.
