Vintage Cottage Beauty
With Terri Temples and Kathy Cartwright

Vintage Cottage Beauty in Oakland, Illinois gave the class a real treat by discussing the process they went through to start marketing their pure and natural soaps and lotions. The students were allowed to create their very own personal scents, then share their recipe with the business owners. Great marketing research for the company and a great hands-on experience for the students.

Name & Logo Discussion
With Jim Zimmer

We are in the process of naming our class and creating a logo. Jim Zimmer with Eastern Illinois Properties has had experience branding national agricultural products and he gave the class a checklist to use when evaluating a name and logo to determine if it will be successful. Their homework is to find logos that work and share with the class.

Many of the entrepreneurs we speak with have travelled extensively and find ideas when exploring the world. Bill Lair, Charleston Rotarian, spoke briefly about the Rotary Exchange Program offered to 16-18 year old students that immerses the students into a different culture for the year.
