- 60 businesses and individuals that have committed a total of $165,500 to fund a Coles County Entrepreneurship Class beginning in 2012
- 20 enthusiastic Effingham County junior high students who have joined Invo-co, a new entrepreneurship club
- 3 Clark County High Schools spending the day learning about entrepreneurship and college students shooting video about advice for aspiring entrepreneurs during Global Entrepreneurship Week

$165,500 Committed to Create a Coles County Entrepreneurship Class
More than 60 businesses and individuals have committed a total of $165,500 over a three year period to fund a county-wide experiential entrepreneurship class.

iEntrepreneur Challenge Video Contest Winner
Congratulations to Annette Lynch who was the winner of an iPad for her video featuring Ed Thomas of Bike and Hike. Second place winner was Tom Nierman who featured Mayor John Inyart of the Charleston and Mattoon Midas franchise.
These five teens used their imaginations and created a product from 4 pieces of junk winning the grand prize at the Clark County Youth Entrepreneurship Workshop. |
Thirty students from Casey, Martinsville and Marshall High Schools came together to see if they had what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Lexy Teichmiller, an EIU freshman and a 2011 graduate of Dieterich High School and the Effingham County Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) class spoke about self-publishing her book, "Investing in Human Capital". Special thanks goes to Clark County Brainpower Team - Clark County School Districts, Clark County Development Organization, the University of Illinois Extension and Martinsville on the Move who sponsored this event. |

We are pleased to announce that Ned Lunt will be serving as the interim BSC Counselor for the next three months. Ned is currently a consultant at Competitive Advantage Consulting ans has held senior management position for the Thomas Monahan Corporation, Professional Software, Inc., Hills Pet Nutrition and DH+S. He received his Bachelor of Science (BS) from Arizona State University and his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Eastern Illinois University in 2006.

Effingham County E-Club is a Hit
We have completed the first semester of the new Effingham County Junior High Entrepreneurship Club which meets from 3:30 - 5 pm at Effingham Junior High School. INVO-CO, short for Innovation Company, is the new name chosen by the 20+ students that have been regularly participating. We are looking for interested Effingham County entrepreneurs and volunteers to help facilitate the club for next year. Alex Ruggieri Shines the Light on Regional Entrepreneurs Learn about the leading Central Illinois entrepreneurs by viewing or listening to interviews with Alex Ruggieri. He hosts both a television and radio show in Champaign-Urbana, but you would be surprised by how many entrepreneurs he highlights in our area. |

Give the gift of learning this holiday season and sponsor a child to attend this summer's Camp e3 - energizing emerging entrepreneurs. It's only $395 to let them discover entrepreneurship in this 3 1/2 day business pitch competition at Eastern Illinois University.
