Ribbon-cutting Ceremony for
Volunteer Service Center -- Saturday, June 23

Join Jackie L. Gorman, GSSWT Board Chair, and Rose González Pérez, GSSWT CEO, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Volunteer Service Center and Volunteer Development Center from 4-5:30 p.m., Saturday, June 23 at the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center. This ceremony will immediately follow the Volunteer Enrichment Conference.

The Volunteer Service Center will be the one-stop volunteer hub to deliver and make payments for membership, program and camp registrations. The center's customer service staff will be available to assist volunteers and adults with questions and information to make their experience a true one-stop process. There will be three computers available for adults to utilize for online training, research for group activities and all things Girl Scouts.

The Volunteer Development Center will be the office volunteers and adults will visit for answers to questions about adult learning, volunteer policies and other adult leadership opportunities. The center's staff will assist volunteers in choosing the right path of participation and work with volunteer committees to develop training opportunities for all volunteers regardless of their level of participation.

The Volunteer Resource Center will also be open during this time and will be previewing new resources and services to include three new computers available to volunteers.

We hope you will join us for this special event and see how Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas continues to make improvements to support you better!

Wurzbach Parkway progress

Keep an eye out for heavy equipment transportation in our area the next few months, as construction on the Wurzbach Parkway extension continues to progress.

Please drive slowly when entering the grounds near the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center, as trucks will be coming and going quite often through the lot.

Construction on Wurzbach Parkway is scheduled for completion in 2015. For more information and weekly updates on the construction, sign up for the newsletter here.

Thank you for your patience, and for taking care to drive safely when traveling to and from our headquarters!
