GSSWT Volunteer Named 2012 Embajadora of the Year
The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is the first organization of its type in the United States. Today, there are nearly 35 Hispanic chambers of commerce in Texas and 600 nationwide. The SAHCC celebrated its 83rd year on Jan. 28 with more than 1,700 in attendance at its Annual Gala.

Girl Scout Troop Leader Leticia Delgado Gonzalez was named the 2012 Embajadora of the Year at the Gala, an award that is presented annually to a member volunteer who exemplifies the best in service and commitment to the SAHCC and the community. Ms. Gonzalez leads the sales team at Green Vida Commodities, and is passionate about educating the community on protecting the environment. She and her daughter belong to Troop 188 in the Jordan Service Unit.

"When we first got involved in Girl Scouts, I thought it was going to be a one-way relationship -- I quickly learned that wasn't the case," Ms. Gonzalez said. "I wish more people knew what we do and what (Girl Scouting) is about."
