The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led business in the country and generates more than $750 million for girls and communities nationwide. Record Number of Girl Scouts at Cookie Rally at SeaWorld
To kick off the official cookie season, more than 6,000 Girl Scouts, twice last year's attendance, participated in the 2012 Girl Scout Cookie Rally on January 21, an exclusive event held at SeaWorld San Antonio.
Corporate volunteers hosted activities during the initial Tailgate Party to introduce five innovative patch programs
for each company's area of expertise. Joining last year's CPS Energy's Environmental Awareness initiative, H-E-B's Healthy Living initiative, and Valero Energy Corporation's STEM initiative were Rackspace Hosting's Voice Through Technology initiative and Wells Fargo's Financial Literacy initiative.
Once inside SeaWorld's arches, Girl Scouts and families had the opportunity to see three shows, ride two rides, and witness the Girls Rock Tour performance at Ski Stadium.
Finalist performances can be seen on GSSWT's YouTube channel
and photos from the 2012 Girl Scout Cookie Rally can be seen here

Savannah Smiles Troop 7775
For the first time in history, Girl Scouts from San Antonio are featured on the packaging of Girl Scout cookies. Members of Troop 7775 from Northside ISD's Linton Elementary can be seen on the box of this year's newest cookie, Savannah Smiles.
The lemon-flavored, powdered sugar-dusted cookie is a tribute to Girl Scouting's 100th anniversary and the city where the organization was founded in 1912. This will be the only year Girl Scouts from San Antonio will appear on more than 8 million boxes of Savannah Smiles nationwide -- so stock up this season before they're gone!
Janie Gonzalez Named Honorary CEO
This year's Girl Scout Cookie Program theme asks, "What can a cookie do?" and answers, "More than you see." The theme tells the world that a Girl Scout cookie can help girls dream more, have more opportunities, give more to their communities, and do more than they ever thought possible.
In order to help Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas attain the goal of accomplishing more, Webhead Chief Executive Officer Janie M. Gonzalez (at left in photo with Rose Gonzalez Perez, GSSWT Interim CEO) has been selected to serve as the regional council's Honorary Cookie Entrepreneur Officer.
A Girl Scout alumna and nationally-recognized internet industry leader, Ms. Gonzalez and her team contribute to the federal government's national defense efforts. She has been named E-Myth's Entrepreneur of the Year, Accion Texas Microlender Entrepreneur of the Year, San Antonio Business Journal's "40 under 40" Rising Star, and has received the Compass Bank Latina BusinessExcellence Award and the National Association of Women Business Owners Visionary Award.
