Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas will again be participating in the 2012 Martin Luther King Jr. March and invites all Girl Scouts and their families to march together 10:00-11:30 a.m., Monday, January 16.

This local march is the largest currently held in the United States and expects to have 100,000 participants this year, as well as Martin Luther King III as a keynote speaker.

Approximately 2.75 miles long, the march will begin at the MLK Freedom Bridge (near MLK Academy at the 3500 Block of MLK Drive) and will end at Pittman-Sullivan Park (1101 Iowa Street). Additional festivities will follow, so come out and march with GSSWT.

To learn more about this march and where Girl Scouts will meet up to walk together, contact Megan D.C. Jackson, Program Specialist (210-349-2404/1-800-580-7247 ext. 292).
