It is bittersweet that this is my final message to you as CEO for Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas. Today, I will be leaving Texas to lead the national organization as the next CEO for Girl Scouts of the USA.
On behalf of nearly 30,000 girl and adult members throughout Southwest Texas, I would like to thank you for embracing the ideals of the Girl Scout movement and for your support in making the premier leadership development program available to all girls. Your commitment to the organization has allowed Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas to excel in recent years. Our team has been able to reach significant milestones.
Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas is in a strong position to continue the work of serving more girls than ever before due to your support.
I am pleased to announce that our board of directors has appointed Rose Gonzalez Perez to serve as Interim CEO following my departure. Rose will guide our great team of staff and volunteers until a national search can take place to name the next chief executive officer for the council. I hope you will continue to offer Rose and the team I leave behind the same support and encouragement you offered me.
My time in Texas has been incredibly memorable and I will miss the friendships I have made on my personal leadership journey. As my journey takes me to New York to serve as CEO for Girl Scouts of the USA, I will cherish the lessons learned in Southwest Texas and hope to see you soon.
Sincerely,
