GSSWT Offices to be Closed
Tuesday, August 2

All GSSWT offices will be closed Tuesday, August 2 for a Staff Development Meeting. Click here to see future closed dates for GSSWT offices.

Save the Date for Service Team Training  

Service Team Training for volunteers will be held Saturday, August 13  from 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at University United Methodist Church (5084 DeZavala Road, San Antonio, 78249).

Artpace San Antonio Presents: ¿Cómo Vives?

Artpace and Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas are teaming up to bring this six-week, FREE series to Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors! Interested in sculpting, drawing, watercolors and more?! This series is for you! Get all the details here. Space is limited!

All Girls Invited to Join ...

the 2011-2012 PR Team

Girls age 5-17 with bright personalities are needed to help represent our organization throughout its 21-county jurisdiction as part of the council's Public Relations (PR) Team.

Are you interested in telling others in your community how great Girl Scouts is? If so, applications for the 2011-2012 PR Team will be accepted beginning July 15 through August 15. Current members of the PR Team do not need to re-apply (to check your PR Team status, contact Stephanie Finleon).

Applicants for the PR Team should be articulate, outgoing, willing to be called with very short notice, and have access to transportation to and from events. Girls with musical talent (e.g., singing, piano, etc.) are also encouraged to apply.
To apply, a parent/guardian must complete the 2011-2012 PR Team Application, available online through August 15.
Applications received after the deadline will not be considered until the next membership year.GS Trefoil

Following the application deadline, girls and their parent/guardian will be contacted for a short photo shoot and mock interview.

The 52nd National Council Session and Convention will be here before you know it and you are not going to want to miss out on a thing!

GSUSA has an action-packed agenda for the convention to kick off our next 100 years in Girl Scouting, including a History Conference, speakers and entertainers, unforgettable learning experiences and -- of course -- celebrations of our many accomplishments. Pouch Brigade 

Want to start participating in 100th anniversary council-wide projects? Start collecting Capri Sun pouches to help fund upcoming Forever Green projects.


After enjoying your refreshing beverage simply pull out the straw, place the pouch(es) in a plastic sandwich bag, and write the quantity of pouches on the outside. Drop it off at the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center outside the Resource Center now through December.

Summer Hours  

The Girl Scout Shop and Resource Center are still operating on summer hours through August 31:
  • Monday-Wednesday -- 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday -- 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
  • Friday -- 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
  • 2nd Saturday -- 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. 
School year hours will begin September 1!
