ENJOYING THE RIDE
This week we are sharing some great stories about riding.
Hats off and cheers to David McBride and Jeffrey Botto for riding their Triumph Tiger 800 XC and Tiger 800, respectively, a long way in a short amount of time. Imagine Boston to Ohio and back in less than 36 hours. Both men have now completed the Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000 and the Butt Burner 1500. These riding accomplishments are significant and most of us will never attempt, let alone finish, a ride like these two gentlemen knocked off last weekend. Please read the summary of their adventure on two outstanding Triumph adventure bikes included in this newsletter.
Last weekend over at Loudon our own Adam Kells had a really great weekend with a bit of attendant weather drama. He ran two races on Saturday and two races on Sunday and found himself on the podium twice after running his personal best time on the home track. Adam said about the weekend, "I had a great time with excellent support. Thank you to my friends, family, and crew."
Racing offers a whole different perspective of motorcycling when compared to the endurance riding mentioned above, the daily commuter, or the casual Sunday rider. Ultimately, we are all seeking the joy and liberation that riding on two wheels can bring to every rider in unique ways.
Just this morning after dropping my son off at camp, I spun back home and pulled the cover off my old Triumph Daytona/Speed Triple (looks like a Triple, but was a 2002 Daytona). I simply couldn't bear another day driving the car to the shop. When you are shuttling kids around the car is a necessity, but knowing my Triumph was at home in the driveway was too much for me today. So a quick ride to work, a few tasty curves, a couple of rpm explorations north of seven grand, and I am alright.
No matter what you ride, how you ride it, why you ride it or how far you ride it.....
Enjoy the Ride!
