We have been sharing our story from New York to Portland and San Francisco since the start of 2009.
Highlights include a feature on the Today Show
with Molly, Amy Smith and Cari Shane Parven. We had a fabulous time,
and found our online sales double in the two weeks after the show
aired! The host called Knowing Pains, "an incredible collection about
women taking charge."

Another highlight was our Portland writers' sharing their stories on ABC's AM Northwest
last week, talking about thriving in marriage, pursuing a passion and
deciding on the age-old question: "to dye, or not to dye?"
Breast Cancer Action Executive Director, Barbara Brenner, joined us for a reading at Books Inc. in San Francisco to share more about her organization and her appreciation for our support. She announced a big win from their "Think Before You Pink" campaign, in which they successfully lobbied General Mills to take the cancer-linked synthetic growth hormone, rGBH, out of

The staggering rate of breast cancer among women in this country (1 out of every 8 of us, up from 1 in 20 in 1960) is linked to cancer-causing agents that have crept into our everyday food and environment. Thank you, BCA, for the work you and other groups are doing to help protect us.
