Summer Countdown

Summer Countdown

Summertime is officially here and we are excited to kick off our Summer Countdown.  Even though we take a break from some things over the summer, it is exciting when we have the opportunity to enjoy some FUN together...movie night on the grounds, pick-up basketball games, ultimate Frisbee, Wetlands night, and more. These are all events you can just show up for and enjoy!

Summer Sessions

"Are we doing anything for women this summer?" is a question we have often heard recently. Here is the answer!  We were unable to repeat our break-out sessions in our Women's Weekend last January, so we are offering a fresh, expanded opportunity with more time for discussion and mingling.  See you as often as you can come!  Read More

Baptism

Baptisms at Grace

July 24

Baptism tells the story of a person who has entered into newness of life.  This summer may be the perfect time for you to express your faith in Jesus Christ through baptism. For more info about this once-in-a-lifetime event for children, youth and adults, go to

gracejohnsoncity.com/baptism.  Please let us know of your interest to be baptized no later than July 1.

Building a Community

Join us in Building the Next Generation at GFC

Scripture tells us to "tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done."  Psalm 78:4.  Kids and students are important at GFC.  That is why we have ministries such as Kids' Horizons for our infants through 4th graders, Vertical for our 5th-6th graders and Epic for our 7th-12th graders.  Please read the article below to hear how two individuals here at GFC are serving in these ministries to reach the next generation.  Read More

Vertical Summer Connection

Come hang out with your Vertical friends during summer break!  On June 12th and July 17th, 5th and 6th graders will meet upstairs in the Vertical café during the 10:45 for donuts, games, worship and service opportunities.

On June 12th, come early for donuts and fellowship.  We will be working together to assemble hygiene kits to send to Mountain View Elementary.  Please bring a new toothbrush, tube of toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant to go into these kits.  You can bring all or one of those items.

On July 17th, the Epic band will be with us for worship.  Our service project for that day will be to bring in school supplies.  We will sort and collect school supplies that will be packaged by the pre-school children on Echo Sunday!

August 7th, we will welcome all 5th, 6th and 7th graders along with their families to worship in Vertical.  For 5th grade, it will be their first Vertical experience. During this service, we will commission our 7th graders to Epic and they will end this time with an Epic informational meeting.

Jump!JUMP!

This summer we've diverted from the norm, and your elementary students are going to JUMP into the middle of Paul's journey and watch the story of his radical faith unfold!  From the moment his faith was sparked by the light on the Road to Damascus to shipwrecks, jailbreaks, and courtroom drama, your kids will have a front row seat to Paul's story of faith - a never-ending adventure.  Here's what the summer line up looks like:

June 12: Paul & Silas (Acts 16:16-34), It's not about me. It's what God wants to do in the world around me.

June 19: Mars Hill (Acts 17:16-34), Jesus rose again so that you would know He is God.

June 26: King Agrippa (Acts 25:23-26:32), I can tell others about God by what I say and do.

July 3: The Shipwreck at Malta (Acts 27:27-44; 28:1-10), You can trust God to be there when bad things happen.

July 10: Paul & Timothy (2 Timothy 3:14-17), The Bible is like no other book. It's the Word of God.

July 17: Wrap-up of Paul's journey, What's the next jump for you?

Put that faith in motion!

Grace Womenar Coming August 27, 2011

This is a first....but for a very good reason!  Have you as a woman (whatever your age or season of life) felt somewhat unsure of what God was wanting you to be and do?  If so, you are not alone!  This year in women's ministry we want to find some answers to the questions,  "What is unique about being a woman follower of Jesus?" and "How is it different than the way men respond as disciples?"  Read More.

ECHO Sunday is Coming July 31st... Save the Date!!

ECHO SundayOn July 31st, we are not going to gather as a church in our building, but rather as a church family we will head out into our local community serving different organizations and schools.  We are very excited about the 3rd Annual ECHO Service Sunday, as it provides a special opportunity to shine the light of Christ through this unique and special day of service.  Jesus said in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."  So plan on doing just that...shining God's light as we demonstrate God's love in tangible ways!  Look for more information during our ECHO Kickoff Sunday later this month!

If you are going to change your contact information, please let us know!  You can update your information here or on the bulletin Connection Card.
