EPIC Night of Worship
On March 2, Grace Student Ministries sponsored a unique night of worship called "BAHT." Students discovered the atrocities of human sex trafficking through experiential elements designed to increase awareness and change attitudes towards this global problem. Staff, leaders, and students built walls around the room where students had written words like "slavery" and "bondage," reminding participators of the necessity to react against this injustice. Throughout the night, students blotted out these words by dipping their hands in red paint and placing them directly on top of the words. They also wrote prayers and scriptures on these walls.
The title, "Baht" originates from the Thai currency and represents the monetary way that humans are often "bought." The worship culminated with visual crosses that reminded students that everyone has already been bought through the blood of Christ. Student Anna Tolan and several other senior girls were integral in planning this event. The event contained a production team of 23 people along with over 40 total volunteers. The service raised $2268.05 in support of an organization called "Not For Sale," which buys women out of slavery and trains them in ways where they can survive on their own.
Storytime Training God is telling a story, and we've been invited to participate in that story....the story of God! 'Storytime' was the title of the February 13th Outreach Training for people in the GFC family desiring to more effectively serve the least and reach the lost. Grace Outreach Pastor Larry Nees and Outreach Staff Larry Stamm led 35 people in this fast-paced 75-minute training session over lunch immediately following the 2nd service. Read More.
