Longings
Candlelight Christmas Eve Services
Friday, December 24 at 4 and 6 PM

LONGINGS. We all have them and they seem to come to the surface at Christmas more than any other time of the year. Acceptance. Love. Peace. Joy. Security. The list could go on and on. You are invited to join others from GFC and our community to discover just what the Christ of Christmas has to do with the deep longings of our heart. Don't miss this highlight event in your celebration of Christmas.

You can pick up your free tickets at GFC. Doing so helps us be sure there is room at each service for everyone. Also, we have invitation cards for you to give away, place on your desk at work, place in an envelope with your gift for your mailman, etc. Let's all pray for a very fruitful and worshipful Christmas Eve!
Women's Weekend in January
Life is Good....or is it?
Can you even count the times you have casually responded, "Fine!" in answer to the question, "How's it going?"  Our brief, casual encounters with even close friends don't seem to give us the chance to share more honest and heart-felt answers of the challenges and struggles we often feel within us.  In our upcoming Women's Weekend, we are going to take time not only for the joy of shared laughter, but also for the transparent sharing of life - just the way we are on a daily basis.

You will find in this Jan 28/29 weekend a chance to listen and to share our stories, to talk of dreams realized and lost, disappointments and blessings, inadequacies and strengths - all within the framework of God's unconditional love and grace.  This is a time for heart bonding as we seek to authentically follow Christ together.  Plan to come and bring your friends.  Registration and further details coming in January.

Building a Community
Holiday Remembrance Service
The "Holiday Season," as it has been so affectionately coined, traditionally is a time spent with family, friends and loved ones filled with activities. Yet for many, the fun festivities, warm family traditions and joyous celebrations are a painful reminder of what has been lost. This is especially true of those who  are grieving the death of someone they loved and cared for. For these individuals the "Holidays" can be difficult and painful with feelings of lose, emptiness, and guilt.  Read More.

Roots and Boots Ministry by Sarah Bowles
This past July, after the death of Ben White who was an Air Force Combat Medic in Afghanistan, the Lord began to stir in me a need and desire to connect with those in my church who had served or have a loved one currently serving in our military.  Along with Miriam Bauserman, Vicki Hinton, and Woody Johnson, we began to seek the Lord to do just that.  Our first "Roots and Boots" gathering was in November, and the response was "exceedingly beyond all that we could ask or think."
