A Home Away From Home
Interfaith Hospitality Network is one of our local ministry partners that provide temporary housing for homeless families through the partnership of area churches. Local churches serve together to provide temporary housing in their facilities, as well as meals and transportation, for these families. The unique service of IHN allows the family to remain together, which other temporary housing agencies cannot usually provide. They also help the families look for jobs, save for new housing, and budget their resources. We are very thankful for IHN and all the area churches that support this ministry. Together we are able to provide a warm and caring home for these families during very difficult times.
We will be partnering with 1st Presbyterian Church to provide a home for the IHN families the week of June 13th- 20th. Our days to serve will be June 14th and 17th. There are several ways that you and your family can be involved. We are in need of people to help provide dinner meals for the families, evening hosts that stay with the families at the church until the overnight host arrives, and overnight hosts that sleep at the church with the families. If you would be interested in serving the families of IHN during this week in June, please contact Rachel Pearson, our IHN Ministry Coordinator.
A Hostile Encounter in a Muslim Tea Shop John David recently stepped onto a hornet's nest in the Middle East where he and Heidi serve as GFC global partners. By God's grace John David was able to turn this angry confrontation into an opportunity to bear witness of Jesus love. What would you have done? Read Story
