Vicki Hummer Hired to Lead Trauma-Informed Care Initiative

Vicki Hummer recently joined the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay as Director of Trauma-Informed Care. She is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's Trauma-Informed Care initiative.

An expert in the field of child welfare and a licensed clinical social worker, she brings a wealth of clinical and research experience in the areas of children's mental health, adoption and child welfare. She has an extensive background in psychotherapy, behavioral sciences and program development.

Hummer will build upon the initial work of the Crisis Center's Trauma-Informed Care Steering Committee through a vigorous staff training program and establishing a Train-the-Trainer initiative.

Hummer's short-term focus is to ensure that every facet of the agency's work is truly trauma-informed while long-term she'll work with other local agencies and partners to create a trauma-informed system of care and trauma-informed communities throughout the Crisis Center's service area.
