Helping sow the seeds for a
lifelong love of nature! Earn the Lauritzen Gardens Patch or work toward a Girl
Scout recognition, all while exploring the acres of gardens in Omaha. For more

Get Your Hula On!

Dig out your
grass skirt and your swimsuit and head to Camp Maha for our annual G-force Luau Party! All girls entering grade 6 and
older are invited to join us this Saturday, August 7, from 3-7 p.m., for

Meet Sister Girl Scouts from Japan

A delegation
of Girl Scouts and their leaders, from Shizuoka, Japan, will arrive in Omaha on
August 12, and we have lots of exciting activities planned for them. Spirit of Nebraska Girl Scouts are invited to
meet our globe-trotting visitors and extend a warm, Nebraska welcome at a
special overnight on Friday, August 13 at Camp Maha. For more information about this event or

Volunteers Needed

If you would like to be part of a
volunteer-driven, statewide travel committee that will develop and implement
trips for Spirit of Nebraska Girl Scouts, we want you! We are currently putting together a team to
represent all parts of our amazing state. You will meet for the first time in late summer and being planning
upcoming travel programs. If you are

make a beautiful work of art! We will
create wind chimes using the medium of hands-on glass work done in two fun and
creative sessions. Bicycle Built for Two Family Saturday, August 28 2:30 - 6:00 p.m. Cody Park, North Platte Bring your family and your bikes for an afternoon ride. You will get to experience the park's
wildlife up-close and personal, as well take a turn on a "bicycle built for
two." Sky Dancing Family Saturday, September 4 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Callaway, Nebraska With kites as large as cars and as
tiny as birds, you and your family will enjoy a kite flying workshop put on by
professional "Sky Dancers" from many nations. Admission is included in your GS registration fee, so

and learn how landfills are created and operated, what actually gets trashed
that doesn't have to be and how you can make a difference with every little step you take. Be Crisis Cool Family Sunday,

family to Eastridge Presbyterian Church and learn how you could be prepared if
a crisis were to happen. The Red Cross,
Community Blood Bank, and Paws Up Canine Crisis Team will be on hand to help make us
"crisis cool."
