Eleven family and friends from Venezuela decided to make the most of their Christmas holidays by traveling to picturesque Boston and studying English as a group. None of the students had ever seen snow before, but old man winter did not disappoint them, giving them and the city a beautiful white Christmas. Children and adults alike took advantage of the snow and spend many afternoons after class sledding, making snow angels and snowmen. The group was led by Lucia and Esperanza Perez and included adults and children as young as eleven years old. There was a special feeling of family at the school for the holidays. Teachers and staff agreed it was a Christmas to remember. |

We sang Christmas songs and Santa distributed presents to each student as part of the "Secret Santa" event. The holidays in Boston were well supplied with plenty of snow and many of our students who come from warm climates experienced making snowballs for the first time.

Grammar Tip from Bob and George "Enough" means a sufficient amount. It follows the adjective or adverb. It is usually followed by an infinitive. Examples: He is old enough to drive. He speaks English well enough to be a translator. "Enough" usually goes before the noun. It is also usually followed by an infinitive. Ex: Kate doesn't have enough money to go on vacation. We didn't have enough time to see the entire museum. Sandra's Vocabulary Words Empirical evidence or study relies on practical experience rather than theories. Example: His conclusions are based on empirical evidence. Ideological means related to principles or beliefs. Example: The new president has picked thinkers who are more empirical than ideological for his economic team. Ines's Idioms If you lose sleep over something, it means that you worry about it. This expression refers to an inability to sleep because of worry. Example: I'm disappointed that I didn't get the promotion, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. Everything will be okay. Don't lose sleep over it. If you say that something is no picnic, you mean that it is difficult and no fun. A picnic is a pleasant occasion. Example: Having the flu is no picnic.
