Greetings!
On September 22 we entered the fall season. During that time, Eric and I were winding up a long overdue vacation. We stayed in-country for this trip and experienced our new home state of North Carolina with a trip to the South Carolina jewel, Charleston. During our trip, we visited many small businesses whether they were crafters, innkeepers, bars or stores. Even with a sluggish economy all the small business owners we met treated us as if we were the first and best customer to ever come through their doors. That's why I like small businesses. Hand built - by THEIR hands, no one else is helping the potter kiln his wares, no else is making the beds for the innkeepers, no one else is cooking the food but the chef/owner.
In Charleston, we had another reason to be American Proud. We visited Fort Sumter one day and toured the national landmark and on another day we visited the USS Yorktown.

Most of the people working on the Yorktown are volunteers. Many are former Navy men proudly wearing that baseball hat featuring their beloved vessel they served upon. The Yorktown also hosted an historical line up of Navy planes, some seeing better days and some seeing quite a bit of action. Oh, the stories they could tell! We also had the opportunity to go down into a WWII submarine, the USS Clamagore. I think the men that served on these "tin cans" had to be cut from a different wool. About midway through the vessel I began to experience an elevation in my heart rate and respiration. Nothing like the sight of blue sky through an open hatch to make you breathe easier and appreciate the many men that fought and died on vessels like these.
Speaking of tin cans, we were unable to visit the Hunley since it is a "weekend only" site. I guess that means we'll just have to plan another trip to that beautiful city, Charleston!

|
KRISS® Arms has had a busy 2012 beating off the bad guys on the silver screen. In movies alone this year, the KRISS Vector has been featured in the summer release of the remake of Total Recall with Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel. Looking good in the hands of my man Jason Stratham in Safe and Milla Jovovich knows a good thing in the fifth installment of Resident Evil: Retribution (out in theaters now). Do you also have a habit when watching movies of finding fault either with how the actor behind the gun is operating or how the gun has been jimmied beyond reality? Check out the Retribution banner and see if you can find something odd.
