Greetings!
This month Eric and I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the MCAS Cherry Point Air Show. It is the largest of its kind in our fair state of North Carolina. It was one of those clear days with a bright blue sky and a toasty 93 degrees on the tarmac. Eric bought us great seats right up in the front of the action. The show started at 10:30 and the skies were filled with the sounds of freedom! From the CAF Corsair, the only example of the Curtiss-Wright SB2C Helldiver, the Trojan Horsemen in their T-28 Trojan aircraft, the B25, the Red Tail Squadron, The Northeast Raiders, Mike Goulian in his nimble 220SC, Otto the helicopter, the F-4U Corsair, The Black Daggers and the Aeroshell team to the absolutely awesome Blue Angels, the day couldn't have been better or made us and everyone around truly proud to be an American.
 | Future generation of Marines climbing aboard the tank. |
I think every American should make it a point to see an air show or take advantage of when their local military base opens the gates to us "civies" to get that red, white and blue blood flowing again. Eric and I came away from that air show feeling even more proud and honored to be Americans. We can't thank our troops enough, past, present and future for their service and sacrifice.

Keep Your Skills Sharp with the LaserLyte® Laser Training System
|
Now that the weather is warm enough to get back on the range, you might find that you are a little rusty. Besides blaming it on your sights, the wind, the onions on your sandwich, why don't you just go ahead and blame it on the LACK OF PRACTICE. And yes, lasers are a great way to practice aiming and trigger control but aren't effective in the broad daylight. That's where the LaserLyte Trainer Target comes in handy. Whether you pack it for the range or decide to do a little practice while in the comforts of your own home, the Trainer Target provides the feedback you need to be a better shot. LaserLyte isn't leaving anyone out of the practice party either. Whether you are a handgun or rifle owner, you can achieve great results by using the Laser Trainer System including the Laser Trainer Target and either the Laser Tainer Pro (LT-PRO) for all pistol calibers including 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACT, .38SP, .380 Auto, .357 SIG, 10mm and .45LC; or theLaser Trainer Universal (LT-1) that fits all rifles and pistols (min 3" barrel required) from .22 to .50 cal. Or the in-the-chamber design of the Laser Trainer Cartridge (LT-380, LT-9, LT-40, LT-45). There is no excuse when the LaserLyte Laser Trainer System is in the house.

Does Hot Water & Dish Soap Remove Sentry Solutions' SMOOTH-KOTE?
|
Q: I have been using your Smooth Kote; it was sugested to me by a friend who is a Marine Scout Sniper who recently returned from Iraq. I have been shooting and cleaning guns for over 50 years. I'm a little strange because I do enjoy cleaning my guns. Now after using your product I spend alot less time cleaning. All my firearms are now Smooth Koted, they range in caliber from .22 to .45-70. And I have told all my friends to use it.
I live in northern Minnesota, and during deer hunting season it can get to -30 deg, and my guns function perfectly. And now I'll have to buy your Armorer's Kit. Because Smooth Kote works so well.
The question I have is does hot water and dish soap remove Smooth Kote? I want to try it on my Black Powder firearms, and wonder if I will have to recoat after each shooting session? Not that that's a big deal, just want to know.
To learn the answer, visit the Sentry Solutions' Blog.

KRISS Vector Carbine Review from Haus of Guns
|
Look it's a bird! It's a plane! It's a RAY GUN?!?
No, no, it's not a ray gun, but with sleek (some will say ugly) and streamlined ergonomically friendly design the KRISS USA Vector Carbine looks like something imagined or featured in a sci fi novel. In fact if my buddy Owen of ALLAK47.com spots guns correctly (and he always does) I believe we've spotted the KRISS SBR Auto in the new Total Recall 2012. Even with a barrel/shrouded barrel that's upwards of 2 inches thick and a rear stock that looks something like a side folding Krinkov and an Ace Socom stock had a baby, it's hard to draw similarities from the KRISS to any other gun on the market today.
Well, that's primarily because when KRISS sought to design the Vector with it's V-Drive system (video explains it well), they were working to address an age old problem in the submachine gun world more than they were trying to create a gun similar to something you've seen on Battlestar Galactica. Rather than re-hash the same typical design in which the receiver welcomed the bolt and carrier as it drove directly back into the rear end of the receiver before charging forward and chambering round after round in repetition, the genius minds at KRISS decided there must be an easier way to get the whopping .45 ACP 230 grain round (of which we fed over 1000 rounds in our testing with ZERO fails) from the magazine to the chamber reliably but with faster recovery time while keeping the muzzle down instead of consistently rising while the trigger is held down.
