Greetings!
LBM wants to thank all the supporters that backed our team for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer on April 30 and May 1. With your help, our team was able to raise over $6,500! We heard some empowering stories, met great people, crossed the finish line and around mile 24 dug deep into our souls to find the strength, or wait a minute - beer back at the hotel! Keep moving!
And of course that wonderful, bonding weekend couldn't have ended on a better note than "Justice is done." But the war is not over. Manufacturers aren't turning their machines over from gun making to golf clubs anytime soon. The priority remains the same. Our industry needs to keep the wheels of innovation at full speed. We need to keep our soldiers on the far front safe with high-quality, no-fail equipment. We need to outfit our law enforcement and first responders with products that protect them from enemies on our shores - the seen and unseen. And we need to continue to support our trainers and training schools to provide the best in education and skill set building that keep our men and women who go in Harm's Way coming home. |

American Technology Network, Corp. Introduces the ThOR Series, a New Line of Thermal Optical Rifle Scopes |
ATN's new line of thermal optical rifle scopes, the ThOR Series, are built on a widely popular 320 x 240 microbolometer core. But what is a microbolometer? It is a specific kind of bolometer that is used as a detector in thermal imaging cameras and scopes. By using a grid of vanadium oxide or amorphous silicon heat sensors on top of a corresponding grid of silicon, the infrared radiation from a specific range of wavelengths hits the vanadium oxide and changes its electrical resistance. This resistance is measured and processed into temperatures which are represented graphically. When this microbolometer core is coupled with a high resolution OLED color or B&W Microdisplay assembly you get the amazing resolution and clarity found in the ThOR series. To get the full low-down on this incredible weapon mounted or hand-held thermal imaging series, visit ATN's ThOR site. |

Let Me Count the Ways: The MPA Protector Series - Just Plain Better |
With so many firearms companies racing to get in the compact and subcompact market, many of you have asked why did MPA dive into this too full pool of contenders? Well, because the Protector Series of .380 and .32 subcompact pistols were totally unique! Let me count the ways:
Made in America in a world class machining facility in the Southeast. The company is TS16949 / ISO9002 certified - which represents less than 1% of all manufacturing facilities in the US!- Machined from solid billet of 4140 heat treated steel or 416 stainless steel - NO CASTINGS!
- By using maximum manufacturing efficiencies such as reducing cycle times, material costs and more, MPA produces a premium firearm at a much greater savings than other, less quality products on the market today.

Sentry Solutions Final Thoughts on the NRA Annual Meetings 2011 |
This year saw Sentry Solution's 13th year of exhibiting at the NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits. Every year has seen greater attendance than the year before. Mark Mrozek, President of Sentry Solutions, had this to say - "I haven't seen the attendance numbers for 2011, but it looked to me like $4.00 per gallon gas and parking/traffic challenges took its toll on the number of visitors we had this year. That being said, a slower NRA is much better than most other shows."
Sentry Solutions exhibited new items such as Marine TUF-GLIDE and a new take on their popular Knife and Tool Care Kit, since renamed (to reflect its versatility) Gear Care Kit- Field Grade.
During the show we always get asked questions on how Sentry Solutions compares or is different from the competition. Well, during this show Mark Mrozek came up with a pitch - "Sentry Solutions has the only product being displayed which will benefit virtually everyone attending the show- TUF-CLOTH - the unique properties means any gear from firearms to knives to fishing tackle and even collectible silver items and such will perform better or last longer with less maintenance just by using TUF-CLOTH."
Each year we get to see old friends and introduce our Oil-Free Gun Care products to a new group of converts. This year we were "breaking in" a new addition to our sales staff, Steve Sevier, current US Airways Pilot and distinguished member of the Spectrum Group.
Steve has been a user of Sentry Solutions products for several years. In fact, he was so impressed he wanted to work for the company. Steve recently introduced Barrett Rifles (who knew of TUF-CLOTH, but were unaware of Sentry Solutions) to the full line of Oil-Free Gun Care products. Now all the Barrett enthusiasts can buy their choice of Sentry Solutions products at the Outpost Armory.
We were able to re-connect with old friends who used Sentry Solutions when they were serving our country as members of the spec-ops community, including Rick Stewart who is now with the NRA.
Mark Mrozek's closing comments on the show- "It has been great to be back in Pittsburgh with the NRA, the energy in the crowd has been great and we look forward to seeing everyone back in St. Louis next year." |

Saying "Goodbye and Goodluck" to The Best Defense |

|
In 2008, when I was asked by Michael Bane to join him as a co-host of the best television show ever created to deal with personal defense issues, I was floored. As he explained it on the phone that day, it would be a chance to control the firearms training segments and be involved with a great team to develop scenarios that would teach the most important lessons we thought people needed.
Michael thought that based on what he knew about my approach to training, my experience with TV and video and the feedback he had received from viewers after my guest appearances on Shooting Gallery, I would be a great fit. The icing on the cake? I'd be working with Mike Janich, whom I had great respect for as a trainer and considered a friend in the industry. This was going to be great!

Morphix Technologies Offers Solutions to Protect First Responders and Officers From Invisible Threats: Training Teams For Toxic Chemical Scenarios |
The Firefighters Support Foundation (FSF) has just released a new training program called "Chemical Suicides," available for download for free. This new trend of committing suicide by mixing cheap and easily available chemicals in an enclosed space is becoming an increasing threat and more popular. Unfortunately, it's a suicide mission that also aims at harming first responders and officers that may be exposed to the toxic chemicals.
Another reason to keep your Chameleon close by. Training is key here, as is education. Too often a cop or first responder is acting on adrenaline and training when responding to an incident. But increasingly in these incidents, the weapon is not a gun or knife - its chemicals - and what defense does our loyal law enforcement team have against invisible enemies? Not even a prayer.
If you train officers for high risk entries, clan lab scenarios, narcotics or chemical scenarios, Morphix would like to work with you to add one additional layer of training, one additional layer of protection against the invisible enemy. Please email LBM to find out more about the training program.

The Bamboo Chest by Cork Graham Now Available for Kindle |
In 1983, I was an 18-year-old American photojournalist, who, while reporting on a British comedy actor-turned treasure hunter, spent 11 months in a Vietnamese re-education prison on trumped up charges of spying for the CIA. The memoir about that adventure ended up a #2 Top Seller at Amazon.com for three weeks when it was released in 2004.
Though that paperback is out of print, last Sunday, I released the Kindle eBook version of a new edition of my memoir. If you've heard about Kindle, you might be as excited about it as I: it might just be the salvation of the publishing world. The new Kindle can actually hold 3,500 books! And though it'll be a few years before it can take the place of a beautifully illustrated cookbook, it does fine with a book cover, and a few photos in a memoir.
This is a true new 2nd Edition, with information not previously released to either the State Department or the international press.
