YOUTH SUPER SPORTS: This the YMCA's new progressive youth sports program that incorporates fun and creative games during every practice, as well as weekly competitions throughout the season. There are seven pillars of Youth Super Sports: everyone plays, safety first, fair play, positive competition, family involvement, sport for all, and sport for fun. We offer soccer in the fall and spring, basketball in the winter, and flag football in the summer. Please click here for more information.

SCHOOL-AGE CHILDCARE

Summer camp is over and kids are heading back to school. There's still time to register your child for before- and after-school care for the 2011-2012 school year.

The Y encourages parents looking for safe, educational, and fun activities outside the classroom to take advantage of this program, which combines play with academics, and offers enrichment through arts, physical education, sports, and nutrition.

Contact Nick Johansen, nick.johansen@peninsulaymca.org, or Stacy Boring, stacy.boring@peninsulaymca.org, at 757-229-9622 for more information or to make an appointment to register.

At the Y, "play time" can de-stress, bring families closer together, or fulfill the need for challenge and camraderie. The ability to "play" seems to get lost as we age and mature, but is vital to our health and well-being. Invite your friends to play at the Y. If they join September 6 - 27, we'll waive their joining fee;

families save $100!

EASIER PROGRAM SEARCH COMING

In an effort to make it easier for our members to find and register for programs we are making some updates to our online program search.

Beginning September 7th a new program search bar will replace the program list you may be familiar with. You'll simply type the name of the program or a program keyword and a list of options will appear. It's that easy! Nothing has changed in the actual program registration process, only the program search will be updated.

We hope this makes it easier and faster to find the programs you are looking for.

To register for programs online please visit our website.

If you have any questions, please contact the Welcome Center at 229-9622.
