Look what's happening at the YMCA Child Development Center!
May 4th - 8th is Teacher Appreciation Week at the YMCA Child Development Center. Our wonderful parents take time during this week to thank their teachers for the amazing job they do each and every day with their children. There is a combined 181 years in experience at the Child Development Center among our teachers.
Beginning in May, our preschool room will begin practicing for graduation in order to be ready for their big day June 5th! We will also be celebrating our Mothers this month with programs such as Mommy and Me.
The grounds of our center will be looking especially beautiful this month as our different age groups learn about plants and flowers and begin planting flowers and vegetables outside.
If you have any questions about our program or would like to take a tour of our facility please contact Susan Ishman, Associate Childcare Director at 757-220-7045.

Mother's Day ~
Sunday, May 10th
Mother's Day is just around the corner. What have you done lately to show your Mother appreciation for all the years of devotion and unqualified love? If your Mother lives nearby, spend some time with her. Take her to lunch, or take her on an outing or to a special event. Take her to a movie she will enjoy followed by a leisurely walk in the park or enjoy an ice cream sundae together. On the other hand, if she lives far away, give her a call now and then. It doesn't have to be Mother's Day. Call for no reason at all except to find out what is going on in her life and express your interest. While you are making plans for this Mother's Day, don't just give a gift, give the gift of your time. In these days and times a letter can have a tremendous value. Unlike a phone conversation, it is a tangible thing to be enjoyed over and over. Take time and honor your Mother this year. And don't forget the other 364 days of the year. |
YMCA Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
