Next Tuesday, September 29th at 7pm, Terre Foods is holding a Community Meeting at the Vigo County Public Library.  We're hoping all of our members will be there, and any interested individuals are welcomed to attend, so spread the word!

Membership meetings are an important facet of membership in a co-op.  We can send you emails and direct mailings, but so many of these messages can get lost in the constant stream of mail most of us get every day.  These meetings give us, the Steering Committee, a chance to communicate with you, the members, face to face.  Furthermore, it's a chance for you to tell us how you think we're doing.  

As you've surely heard by now, we're this close to securing the property at 7th and Poplar streets.  We've heard from membership time and time again how fantastic this property is.  And it's true!  The location is great--right in the heart of downtown, on the intersection of two major streets, close to the bike path, and plenty of parking.  We are just as excited about this property as most of you, which is why it is so crucial that we raise the necessary financing to secure this place for good.  

We are at a critical point in fundraising.  We are in the process of talking to banks and applying for loans.  The greater our capital, the greater our chances are of securing the amount of financing necessary to open the store we've been planning.  With a strong membership and capital base, we're in a far better position to apply for these loans.  This sends signals to lenders that the co-op is not only strong in its membership and support, but a safe investment in the community as well.

The Steering Committee is asking you to do a few things.

1.    Attend the Community Meeting on September 29th at 7pm at the Vigo County Public Library
2.    Become a member, if you aren't already!
3.    Consider making a membership loan or if you're unable to, consider a donation towards securing this property
4.    Tell everyone you know about Terre Foods!  Spread the word!

If you've been thinking about becoming a member, but have been waiting, NOW is the time.  If you are just as excited about shopping at the 7th and Poplar location as we are, please complete your membership materials today.  While we will continue to take memberships through the entire opening process, we are at the most critical point.  Please don't delay.  Help us make this store happen!
