We are looking for testimonials to use in various promotions, including a new web design coming soon. If you believe in the Mission of Terre Foods, and you can't wait for the new co-op to finally open, tell us about it! Send your testimonial to info@terrefoods.org, with the subject line "testimonials". If you can include a photo, so much the better!

Greetings!
There's lots of big news in this Update, but certainly the biggest deal (as you might've guessed from the subject line of the email) is that we are kicking off our Membership Drive! Please see below for more information on how to become a co-op owner. And don't miss our other articles, including a review of the Field to Fork event hosted at Buttonwoods at Sycamore Farms, and more!

Memberships Now Available! Kickoff of Membership Drive, August 2008
That's right, the moment you've all been waiting for has arrived--Memberships are now available. Stop by the Farmer's Market table to get one of the gorgeous Membership Brochures with Application, and learn all about becoming a member-owner of the co-op. You can also visit our new Membership Page on our website, at www.terrefoods.org/membership, and download the brochure and membership application.
Remember, a cooperative market only exists because of its member-owners--we need your support to make this store a reality. Membership now will not only provide needed material support, but it will also be a strong signal to potential lending institutions that Terre Haute is ready for a co-op and willing to support it. We have a variety of options available for payment--we want to be sure that anyone who wants to can become a member-owner, and that our store will be a
true representation of our whole community. So come and learn more, then apply for ownership!
Special thanks go to The Element Outdoor Outfitters for helping us print such stunning brochures, and for contributing space for our Membership Committee to meet and create the member-owner program we now have. That committee is definitely a force to be reckoned with, and every one of them should be proud of their work--kudos!

Field to Fork Dinner a Huge Success
The Field to Fork dinner, hosted by Buttonwoods at The Sycamore Farm, was an unqualified success on every count! The event was magnificent, the food was stunning, the location beautiful, the guests charming... I cannot gush enough about this event. I had a marvelous evening, and I know that everyone else had just as good a time as I did. I discovered some new wines, including a wine house I was unfamiliar with--Benzinger--who practices Biodynamic farming at their vineyard, and the quality of the grapes shines. Chris Kraut outdid himself with his offerings. It is hard to pick a favorite from the night, but I was blown away by the tomato melon gazpacho--sweet melon was added to a traditional gazpacho soup with cilantro aioli, for a delightfully sweet soup with a healthy spicy kick, a true revelation.
The event was also a huge fundraising success. Between the donation made by Sycamore Farms for the event and the Silent Auction, Terre Foods raised over $1750! That is an incredible evening, and we are now that much closer to getting that feasibility study done, and getting moving on opening our store!
